India is home to about half of the global tiger population, of which almost one-third is found outside the range of Protected Areas. Burgeoning human population and ever-increasing habitat loss compel wild tigers to live in close proximity to human-dominated landscapes. Recently, in a joint operation, the Forest Department, Wildlife SOS, and Etawah Safari officials rescued a Bengal Tiger from Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. The teams comprehensively planned and coordinated the 8-hour-long rescue operation to successfully extricate the tigress. As a frantic situation took form, an audience of over 3000 spectators gathered to witness the event firsthand.
