video by sheltondupreez If you can believe it this is actually the baby. The mother is hanging out about 15m below. The calf has to breath a lot more frequently so will often come and play for a bit.Getting to swim with these magnificent creatures is always such a memorable experience #🐋. at Silverbanks, Dominican Republic. #wild #ocean #whale #natures #oceanlife #nderwater #humpback #silverbanks #whalewatching #humpbackwhale #dominicanrepublic

RESCUE UPDATE - Nina works day and night. The blind elephant is often guided by a bullhook tugging on her ear as she carefully navigates the darkness around her. You can see the stiffness in her limbs, especially her right back leg which looks fused at the knee and ankle, likely an untreated injury after being hit by a car. (link in bio) https://give.wildlifesos.org/page/17603/donate/1?ea.tracking.id=NinaFB Planning the logistics around her rescue and obtaining permits and paperwork is particularly challenging during this dramatic COVID surge in India. Even with these obstacles, our rescue team is undeterred. We hope to have Nina to safety late next week. Can you help? If you’re in the USA and want text message alerts, please text “wild” to 797979 . #elephants #elephantrescue #wildlifesos #refusetoride

Some things are just meant to be, which was the case for Harvey & Tres Leches. Both kittens had extensive injuries, but thanks to our team in #LA, they got the medical care that they needed AND became BFFs. The best part? They got adopted together! https://t.co/rVSu20dUTr #Adopt https://t.co/JA4EqWdj6L

In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month we’re sharing a wonderful story from WWF’s Grace Lee. “I help organize millions of activists across the US and world to help stop wildlife crime, drive action on the climate crisis, end plastic pollution, and more. Together we’ve celebrated many wins and experienced some frustrating setbacks. But when the outcome isn’t what’s desired, I remember the resilience of my parents, the resilience of the Korean culture, and the resilience of nature. Protecting our environment and the haven it provides is always worth the fight.” Click the link in our bio to read more.

With people going back to work, there is a lot of talk about people returning the pets they adopted during Covid. People surrender animals to shelters for a variety of reasons, but being bored with their "pandemic pet" is not among the leading causes. https://t.co/ElXqlzdZKX ^kw
