How do you make six huge frames for Titian's mythological paintings? Peter Schade, our Head of the Framing, shows the process of creating six huge matching frames for the '#Titian: Love Desire Death' exhibition. https://t.co/HF3h8HE9tP

Jan Brueghel the Elder died #OnThisDay in 1625. In this tender portrait by Rubens, Brueghel is shown with his second wife, who draws her two children, Pieter and Elisabeth, close to her, the former endearingly toying with his mother’s bracelet: https://t.co/X4N1ck20fy https://t.co/rZWGKzGXG3

The Nigerian painter Ndidi Emefiele draws on personal and gendered references in compositions that explore female identity. Look closely into Emefiele’s universe, and you’ll notice a lack of male characters. Her subjects are confident and assertive, free of gendered expectations. https://t.co/7PLGRnD7Gs

Did people in the Middle Ages really believe in dragons and unicorns? Ask us anything about animals in the Middle Ages, and our medievalists will get to answering. https://t.co/fUTFO0kCGz

Berthe Morisot, a relentlessly innovative Impressionist, was long underrated by art history. She’s due a starring place in the canon. https://t.co/gJTcrMOx4A

Daniel Buren & Philippe Parreno christen kamelmennour’s breathtaking new space in Paris exhibiting together as one. 💗 “The exhibition investigates the way things appear and disappear, which is the definition of a ghost or indeed any form that manifests itself…. Such quasi-objects have an unfinished existence. The world is not only haunted by ghosts, it is constantly transformed by them. There’s no way to escape them. No object exists without its exhibition; it responds to a new story or a new dramatisation, it appears in a new ritual.” — #philippeparreno #danielburen #kamelmennour

Chris Dorland’s new painting “Untitled (despawn)” is currently hanging in the gallery’s viewing room as we prepare d’or his upcoming solo exhibition “New Day,” opening February 12. Dorland’s new paintings are his most complex effort to date to collapse paint and digital technologies into a single indistinguishable skin. Oscillating between decayed abstraction and 4k ultra resolution–Dorland’s new paintings infer the god’s eye view of topographic visualizations and video game POV’s while simultaneously rendering common place, yet intimate, minutiae of daily life such as folder clutter from the artists desktop with hypergraphic detail.
