‘Black Chapel,’ a new monograph of work by Theaster Gates, reflects the themes addressed by the artist in his 2019 exhibition at Haus der Kunst in Munich, where Gates staged an interplay of sculpture and photography, architecture and history, in part through the record collection of Olympic athlete Jesse Owens. Published by Walther König, the book makes available for the first time the complete and fully illustrated catalogue of Owens’s records, along with essays by Ana Schneider, Diamona Stöckle, Guthrie P. Ramsey, Jr., and a conversation between Theaster Gates and Hamza Walker. The catalogue is available for purchase at the Regen Projects store — link in bio. theastergates haus_der_kunst #TheasterGates #BlackChapel #HausderKunst #Munich #JesseOwens #contemporaryart buchhandlungwaltherkoenigwien #WaltherKönig
