What is your policy regarding paying employees who are out due to having Covid-19?

I manage a small business (USA, state of PA) with under 15 employees and almost half of them refuse to get vaccinated. The owner hasn't pressed the issue because we'd be out of commission if they were let go. But now 3 of them, who are unvaccinated, are out with Covid for the next 7 to 10 days. There isn't any written policy, but they're looking to be paid while off, even though we're struggling here to pay the bills and operate short handed. How are other business owners out there handling these unprecedented situations?

How do I ask my boss to take me on as a business partner

I’ve been working at a medical office for 3 years and I’m now in medical school while still working there part time. I started when my boss had just opened the practice, which is an LLC. I’m considered the office manager but I feel like I’ve contributed a lot just to be an hourly part-timer, and I don’t even get the benefits that full time employees would. I want to come back and practice at this office when I’m a licensed physician but I don’t feel it’s fair that I’d come back just as an associate since I’ve been involved from the start. Am I being greedy if I ask my boss to consider me as a partner? Looking for the perspective of a business owner on this!

Where do I begin?

Hello! I am looking for help regarding the purchase of a small business. A potentially perfect small business opportunity for me has appeared in my town. I have never owned a business but see this as my opportunity to start. The owner is asking for 65000 min as that is the value of assets. What do I need to ask for to help me understand the value/ potential of this business? Do I ask to see the books & tax returns for the last few years? How do I make an offer based on what I see? It is an ice-cream stand so the business isn’t hard to understand but what are the crucial things I need to know? Once I have an idea of what to make for an offer, how do I actually go about making it? Do most sellers require a deposit? Is there someone I could hire to help walk me through this whole process?

Multiple letters from california franchise tax board with different business names that aren't mine

My business is in California and I received 3 letters from the mail this past week from State of California Franchise Tax Board and all 3 of them have different business names. The address is correct and is my business address. I can only assume someone is doing some sort of fraud? Is this something I have to report? I just don't want this somehow coming back to me giving me trouble.

We physically moved to Tennessee but our LLC is registered in Ohio. Please help.

I have a question and I hope someone can point me in the right direction for answers. We have a Ohio LLC (taxed as an S-Corp,). My business partner and I have both moved to Nashville, TN. For multiple reasons we would like to keep the LLC in Ohio (Years in Business, Original Registration and EIN, etc). Tennessee does not allow the Domestication of an LLC. Is it possible to have the LLC registered in Ohio and have the physical Headquarters in Tennessee? We have no physical retail shop. We sell Ecommerce through our website and Amazon/Etsy/etc and are getting into wholesaling to retailers that want to carry our products.

Desperate for a reliable payment platform

Good day everyone, the title says it all, my only payment gateway is PayPal. PayPal has proven to be unreliable by locking my account many times for days at a time for review. I’m in need of a reliable platform that can process roughly $500,000 to $1 million in sales a month, while prioritizing a quick payout (like same day or next day). Despite these numbers I only have a few months of experience in this field, I’m getting slaughtered in in rates because Shopify takes a cut and so does PayPal. Any recommendations for where to go from this point would be extremely appreciated, thank you.

How to "close" a sole proprietorship in Texas?

It's time to close my business and move on to other things. All of my clients have been notified and I deposited my last check a couple of months ago. I found forms to file with the secretary of state for LLCs and other corps, but nothing for a sole proprietorship. Do I simply file paperwork to abandon my DBA with the county clerks office, close my business bank account, and not file a schedule C for 2022 taxes? I'm so worried that I'm missing something.

Pressure Washing Service

Hello Everyone, I run a small lawn care company and business has been surprisingly good. Question on adding services to our company. I’ve had a few customers ask us about soft/pressure washing services for either property. I just want to know from someone that has experience, is it worth it and how’s its profitably vs lawn care? Thanks in advance!

Starting out Help

Hello everyone. I am about ready to publish my site live but wanted to ask a few questions before I do. For info: Company sells car decals/computer decals of varying design on vinyl. Easy application on/off windows and laptops. I have an instagram page that I plan on posting designs to. Website is through Square Up. 1: What is the best way to acquire customers in the beginning? How do I do this organically? 2: What is a good starting budget for ads? Where should I place them (i.e., Instagram Ads, Google Ads, Square marketing)? 3: What would you reasonably pay for a normal 6 x 6 in car decal? 4: Where can I source cheap shipping costs from? 5: Would anyone be willing to critique my site and provide feedback? Thanks for all the help!

Quick questions about filing for an EIN

Hello friends, I am in Michigan and currently filing for my EIN and I have a couple of questions, "Where is the LLC physically located" as I understand it this should be the businesses physical address... However, "Do you have an address **different**from the above where you wantyour mail to be sent?" Should this be my registered agents address? Also when filing the LLC, I accidentally put the wrong zip code (though it was still accepted) do I need to wait on filing the EIN until I have amended the LLC?
