Billing client for trip time to in-person meeting

Hi, all! A client and I had a meeting that was, technically, optional for me, but I really needed to be there to see how their processes work to better design the user interface I'm working on for them. My question is: do I bill them for my trip there and back? It took me an hour to drive each way. But if it's not common practice to bill clients for trips to in-person meetings I don't want to piss them off and can just eat the cost. Also, is there a chance they might be like "Well, it's an optional meeting so you didn't have to come here, technically" even though they agreed that it was a good idea for me to be there? Background on the client: they are not assholes. I like them. They're cool. I just don't want to make stupid mistakes with them or bill them for stuff I'm not supposed to bill them. What would you do? (sorry if it's a stupid question, this whole consulting thing is kinda new to me)

Gusto for payroll?

Has anyone ever used Gusto for payroll? Specifically for IC's. What was your experience like? Also, if not, what would you recommend for payroll and scheduling?

Differentiating between brick-and-mortar and online pricing

Hi all, how do you guys differentiate pricing if you have a brick-and-mortar store and an online shop? On our online shop, I have free shipping for purchases over $100 but some of our customers call in or message us inquiring of product pricing in which we give them our brick-and-mortar price. Then, they ask for the free shipping on the brick-and-mortar price which usually cuts into our margins because it never accounted for free shipping. So I'd like to know, how do you guys deal with situations like these? Really appreciate it.

writing off new vehicle as business expense

I have a small residential construction company. I bought a new truck last year, and my accountant says that I can't clam it as a business expense unless it's 100% only used for business. I probably wouldn't have the truck if I didn't do construction, but I do use it to bring my son to school, drive on the weekends etc. I feel like this is the sort of thing that most business owners lie about and will claim as a business expense anyway. I'm really struggling because I'm the sort of person that always does things by the book and is afraid to break rules, so I'm really cautious about claiming it as a business expense. But at the same time, I feel like I'm sort of buried by the costs of doing business (taxes, insurance, workers comp is very expensive for construction) and am not taking home as much money as I should. Am I a sucker for not claiming the truck? Am I a cheat for claiming it?

I desperately need a way to track my employees who do remote work.

We do refurbishment and renovation works. I have around 40 employees, we have an office but we basically work remotley in various temporary sites doing maintenance work in empty flats or Villas. We used to track them physically in the morning by our foreman and supervisors but we recently found out that our foremans and supervisors have been lying to us and alot of times our emplyees were clocking in, leaving and working for other companies as freelancer while using company equipment. I was thinking of buying several sim card with Wifi hospots and use it to GPS the location of my employees within the site. My drivers, foreman and supervisors have been using the lack of tracking to do freelance work for other companies. I have almost 7-8+ sites at a given time and 40+ employees, and it is impossible for me to go and see if everyone is present in the site.
