The cost of keeping Mark Zuckerberg safe keeps going up for Meta, far outstripping what similar tech companies are spending on their top executives. The company spent more than $15.2 million in 2021 for expenses related to protecting its CEO at his homes and during personal travel, according to a recent regulatory filing. That doesn’t include another $10 million given as a pretax allowance for his family’s security as well as $1.6 million for use of a private aircraft for personal travel. His security costs in 2021 are many times those of peers where data is publicly available. Amazon, for example, spent $1.6 million protecting Jeff Bezos last year. See how other high-profile executives stacked up at the link in bio.

Why would Elon Musk abruptly cancel plans to join Twitter's board? He may want to take over the company, or just the freedom to tweet in peace. https://t.co/IEvtdLCsav

Customer stole from me
So I run a detailing business, and I have a debit machine which I let this customer pay on. I put the sale for $147, and let him pay, I went to take a look at something while he paid and when I came back I handed him his receipt and off he went. Later I noticed the receipt showed a RETURN for $147 and not a sale, meaning my machine gave him money. I believe that he did this himself as it’s really not hard to do on the debit machine I have, literally 3 clicks and 5 seconds to do it. I tried contacting him by texting him, no reply, so I called him a few times, he didn’t pickup, then he blocked my phone number shortly after. What can I do about this?? Not only am I -$147, but he also didn’t pay so I’m out $298 in total.

mustang/muscle car for the company
Hi guys, I'm doing estimates for next year's expenses and I decided to get a company car. I need one now, but I learned something very important early in the business world, patience is a virtue. I'm thinking of getting either a Charger or Mustang convertible (4 cylinder since I don't want to annoy potential customers with a loud exhaust) with a compnay wrap. The purpose is to just get around places to go meet clients and give estimates, maybe go pick up a few things here and there. My question, to anyone that has a muscle car as a business car, has it been a positive or negative. Do people seem off put by you showing up in a non professional or "show off" car? Thanks in advance Edit: I have a painting company and my clients are 25-80 years old. I reside in NJ and I plan to expand statewide next year and maybe some day nationwide

Letting employee borrow the company box truck to move
A few years ago, we had people "borrowing" the trucks on the weekend that we didn't know about, so we said no personal stuff with the company vehicles ever. Now, I had an employee ask if they could borrow it for a move this next weekend. What do you guys think? Am I taking a big risk liability-wise by letting him borrow it? Should I let him?

Really thinking about opening a self serve car wash
The area I am in definitely has next to no competition and will get a lot of traffic. I do have to build it myself since I cannot find any that I can make an offer for or have since been closed. Anyone have experience?

If I borrowed money from an individual for a warehouse oversea, can I deduct such expense on schedule C?
I shipped these products oversea and keep them at a warehouse, last year I had 0 sales but had to pay for the warehouse. I do have the receipts when I purchased my inventory from the wholesaler in the states. I am guessing this is a huge red flag for IRS, my concern is if they choose to audit me, what documents do i need to provide besides warehouse invoice? I guess IRS might also straight decline such deduction without the audit?

Retail Vendor Submission Questions
I am new to selling to bigger retail stores and they are asking for a few terms I am not familiar with. I am submitting new vendor application and they are asking for: 1. FOB Cost OR Delivered Cost if you are a direct vendor 2. EDLP% 3. Ongoing Discount I already tried looking these terms up online but Im still having trouble. This is a chain of grocery stores that is in the US only. I am assuming I dont have to offer a EDLP or an ongoing discount. The store has lots of other smaller brands that dont seem to have an EDLP or ongoing discount. I know the brands have a high price because they are high quality. This store also has a 25% discount on beauty items (which is what I am selling) a few times a year so not sure why they want an EDLP. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
