Make employees use their time off before taking unpaid time?

Our employees get some paid time off but we haven’t been making them is it if they don’t want to and are going to be out. They just go unpaid. I see a lot of places have policies saying you have to use your time first before taking unpaid time. What’s the reason behind this?

New business looking for a bank - best bank for getting an SBA loan?

I have a new business (wholesale coffee roasting with plans to add cafes in the future.) I’m trying to decide on a bank to use. My most important criteria is access to capital - I’d like to get an SBA loan in a couple of years when I need a new roaster or want to add a second cafe. Are there certain banks that are more active and amenable to SBA loans?

Got a letter from the SBA reminding me that I have a 100k loan due by next September; looks like fraud. What info must the fraudster have?

I’m trying to get in touch w the SBA but assuming it’s fraud, what info of mine, at minimum, must the bad guys have? I’ve never done an SBA loan so not sure what is required. Could they just have my EIN and business name? This is the first letter I have seen about this. I hope it’s not a bigger ID theft thing.

RESTAURANT GRANT QUESTION

RRF GRANT QUESTION PLZ ANSWER ASAP!! Hi all, so basically I know the Restaurant Revitalization Fund portal opens today, but I read the requirements for the grant and I saw that it said “Applicants that were in operation prior to or on January 1, 2019, must supply at the time of application documentation of gross receipts for 2019 and 2020;”. However I do not have the tax return for 2020. Every year I get my tax returns for the previous year around fall time. So I’ll get my 2020 tax return in October. So in my case what should I do? I really need this money so I very lost as to what I should do.... I have my 2019 tax returns and will be getting my 2020 return later this year. PLEASE HELP IM LOST!!

Forwarding our Phone Number

At the end of June we are leaving our brick and mortar office and becoming a completely remote company. We have a phone number all our clients know and have used for over 20 years. We are retaining this number. We want this long-standing number to be forwarded to a new number (w/o our callers knowing). What is this service called? I call it call forwarding, but I have inquired with our telecom company many times about this and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Is there an official name for this service? Thx

RRF - Application

Hi All! Quick question, RRF opened up today and I just want to make sure I submitted everything on my side. After signing the docs and the application portal is on IRS verification. Do we need to submit anything this stage? I don’t see the IRS form 4506-T form that the website states is required. I don’t see the option to digitally complete this form on SBA Grant website. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Paying Comcast $6646 to wire business internet

I'm moving from a virtual office to a traditional office and am trying to get Comcast for business internet. They currently offer service in my building but "the service tap there is maxed out." They need to do additional wiring and construction to make my suite serviceable. The cost is $6646 and they are offering to pay $4000. Is this.....reasonable?? I personally think they should eat the entire costs as this build out would benefit them more than me. The only other internet option is AT&T and they are offering 8 mbps for $80 a month. Entirely too slow for my needs. Any advice is appreciated.

New York City plans to reopen many of its municipal buildings to government workers in May, but the effort has been complicated by an increase in Covid-19 variant cases and union leaders raising concerns about the virus spreading in offices. Cost for 1120S Prep?

Hey all, I am an independent consultant with an S-Corp. I have very simple revenue and expenses (bill only a few clients a year, pay for office, travel supplies, some marketing and insurance costs). I'm curious what I should expect to pay for annual tax prep, specifically Form 1120S? I think I'm paying way too much, but want to gauge with others.
