What to do with $300,000?

I have 300k cash and I want to start a business/company. Any ideas for passive income? I live in California but I have trustworthy people in Lima, Peru and Genoa, Italy. So I could also start something in one of those places and run it from here. I just need ideas that have a good return

People often make life and career decisions influenced by their culture, parents, or sense of what they “should” pursue — and those choices lead them to invest time, money, and skill development in paths that are very hard to escape from. https://t.co/NWRc8dCr82

Restaurants overcharge for tips & taxes. Should I reach out to business to address this or would that be a waste of time?

Went to a restaurant this past weekend with a group of friends. Our check totaled around $300. The menu states that any groups more than 6 people will see an automatic 18% gratuity charge. That’s fine. Got our check and paid. Looked at the check today and it looked like they charged 20.7% for gratuities and they taxed us against both the subtotal of food & drinks and the 20.7% gratuity. I looked it up and in the state of CA, businesses can only charge taxes on the subtotal of food & drinks, not gratuity. Small business owners, is it normal for a mistake like this to occur and would you normally like to have the consumers reach out to you since you may not be aware of the rule? This may have happened before but our check is usually smaller so I haven’t noticed in the past.

How do we provide company computers for new employees without an IT department? Any good recos or tips?

We’re a new and small company in the design and tech space. We’re hiring our first employee that will need to be provided equipment. We don’t have an IT department, so I’m wondering if anyone here has some advice on how to go about this. We’d like to be able to deactivate the computer in case of termination and especially as an anti-theft mechanism. I don’t think we need much more than that. Any insights would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
