I am a small business owner looking to network but I just want to meet people, not sell anything. Any tips on vetting networking events in 2021?
https://www.reddit.com/r/smallbusiness/comments/4cvsxi/made_a_quick_guide_on_finding_high_quality_local/ I read this post before which has a lot of great info but I am wondering if there are any more recent tips on vetting networking events. I am 29 and started a DTC manufacturing company 4 years ago instead of perusing an MBA. It's been very successful and I feel like I have all of my bases covered. I mainly want to meet other business owners and corporate professionals. Seems like it would be great just to shoot the shit with a supply chain professional from a big company--potentially connect for future job opps or meet people who might one day work for me years in the future. Not lending sharks, insurance agents, and digital marketing sales persons like people on this sub say so many events are crawling with. Is it all about vetting events? Should I be looking at private groups in my city on Facebook and Linkedin?

Car rental via Turo
I’ve been thinking about renting out my car on Turo and was wondering if anyone has experience making a business out of this? I’d like to take out a loan for car purchase and maintenance purposes and wanted to know if there’s some sort of program or something for car rental businesses. Thanks

Small restaurant
Hello I am (29f). I’ve been working at a small restaurant for ten years and the owner recently asked if I would be interested in buying it off him. I was wondering if anyone had advice on finding any grants available in Pennsylvania. I’m not sure where to even start looking, any help would be appreciated!

Local Business Directory
Does your local area have an online business directly specific to your city? Something for affordable advertising for small businesses or for coupons that can be accessed? What type of features would make it valuable to the businesses? Not a Yelp to Bing or Google but a My(insert city name).com with directory, events calendar, coupons, etc.

Delaying Tax Options
So, I was laid off early in 2021 and paid a lump sum to cover 1 year of salary, insurance premiums, bonuses, etc. Long story short I don't need any additional income this year. I have since started a business and am wondering if I have any options to delay taxation on income until 2022? I don't need to draw on any of the income made through my business this year, but I'd still like to be working. It seems like a single-member LLC, being a "disregarded entity", wouldn't work as the IRS would still view any money made by the LLC as income. Anyone have experience with a situation like this? Thank you.

Selling my shopify dropship business, also willing to take on a partner instead
Hey all, sorry if this isn't allowed but I put my site is up for sale on flippa, has been making about $1000 USD a month recently. Also, I would be open to taking on a 50% partner instead of fully selling for half my asking price. But must be good with things I am not like social media, seo. Anyway the site info is listed below: [https://flippa.com/10893648-e-commerce-hobbies-and-games](https://flippa.com/10893648-e-commerce-hobbies-and-games) Thanks for looking.

Steel prices skyrocketing
I own a small welding business and my main focus is making products to sell locally. I advertise via social media and have even had multiple customers drive 2+ hours from out of town for my products. Since January i have been building ramps for trailers, car haulers, etc. While i have had success with these i want to expand and start building ramps for utility trailers with expanded metal........ However the rising cost of steel is going to put the price sky high. I have been researching the past few days and their doesnt seem to be much competition for these things minus a few companies online who sell them but you pay DOUBLE the cost when you factor in shipping. My question is should i go ahead buy the material, build the parts, put them on the market and price it accordingly to todays material costs???? Or wait for the price of steel to drop????

Best way to reimburse employees with receipts?
Hi All, I was recently brought on as the Controller of a small nonprofit (\~30 employees). One of the things I've noticed right away is that everything is done by check. All payments to vendors and all reimbursements to employees (and there are many) are done by check. I'd like to turn this into something electronic, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it. The problem is one of controls. 1. Quickbooks Online has a decent check tracking system, where you print checks through QBO and it will keep a record with the backup for each check. 2. Right now I print review all check requests, print the checks, and then the Executive Director is the only one who can sign the checks. I think she'd require a system where I can't unilaterally make payments myself. What's the best way for me to do this? Can I make a nonprofit paypal or something with approvals? Electronic reimbursements would significantly improve our efficiency.
