Manager to run small business: possible?

I have a small landscaping and grounds maintenance business and I’m looking to sell up, however; I’m also considering the options to keep the business and have it run by a manager. The concept of having the business manager run is attractive: it’s a source of income and one I can nurture in a hands-off manner. On the other hand, I have serious concerns about leaving the business (including a good chunk of my personal capital) in the hands of someone else. I would like to hear from anyone with experience in handing the reins of their small business to a manager. Pros, cons? Any advice or insights would be very well received!!

Suggestion for patient appointment setting service for doctor's office

We're looking for recommendations for a service that will call back and set up appointments with new inbound patient inquiries. I've heard of National Recalls but wondering what else is out there?

File for a second DBA to use additional wording?

Hello! I filed a DBA locally with a generic name like "Cool Things" because I don't want to pigeonhole myself with "Cool Things Upholstery" as I anticipate making other services/goods available. However, I would like business cards and my website to explain my current business offerings, like "Cool Things: Vintage Goods & Custom Upholstery". If I'm using "Vintage Goods & Custom Upholstery" in any capacity, do I need to file for another DBA that includes those words in the name? My Sales Tax and Use Permit is already under my name and lists only "Cool Things" but my NAICS is for reupholstery and furniture repair. I appreciate any help and guidance you can offer.

Scheduling apps?

My wife and I are buying a small cleaning company and I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a good scheduling app that can do it all? It would be ideal if the app had the ability to schedule employees to a location, send a reminder text to the employee and home owner, and maybe help with billing? Thank you in advance!

Communication Solutions for Franchise Restaurants

I am an account manager for a group of franchise restaurants from the distribution side. They are growing pretty well, and now I have too many to keep track of with just phone calls and texts. I want to eliminate texts and work on emails. The problem is that stores don't want to do that. I also have another employee helping me and she is getting a lot of random texts. so we want to consolidate so both of us can see everything. But They keep texting. How can I do this from email and slowly get away from texts? There are more stores on the way too, so I want to set this up as soon as possible. Any ideas? Is there a program where i can communicate with their phone from my email? Thanks

Is it necessary to work in the health sector to create a successful and profitable health blog?

I'm a copywriter with a background in journalism so writing and researching viable sources is very easy for me, but that would be enough to give credibility to a health blog (I think it's a very profitable niche).

Single-Member LLC, No Employees, I Pay Referral Commissions to Non-Employee; How to Claim As Business Expense to My LLC?

Single-Member LLC, Small Annual Revenue (starting to grow), No Employees or 1099s. I am paying Referral Commissions to a non-employee, referring-business partner (in his personal name as he doesn't have a business). I plan to deduct/claim these payments as 2021 Business Expenses to my LLC. Accordingly, do I simply declare the annual total of his payments as 'Other Business Expense' under his personal name (I believe that's the section I use for some of my marketing and miscellaneous expenses that aren't categorized elsewhere like Legal/Attorney)? Anything else I need to consider related to potential 1099 relationship even though he only introduces leads to me and is employed in a separate industry? Am I required to create a 1099-NEC if he will earn thousands annually from my payments? Last year, I spent thousands on legal/attorney fees but I don't recall creating any 1099-NEC to any person or entity. Thanks!

I'm hiring a remote computer programer for my CA business and the candidate I like lives in Mexico. I see there are companies that handle Employer of Record and payroll, but only finding advertising blogs when I google for more info about this. Any suggestions or experience greatly appreciated.

I know it's legal for me to hire someone from Mexico but what are the things I should be aware of? Thanks for any help!

Purchasing a second business and have a few questions about expenses

We own and operate a small manufacturing business and we are currently under contract to purchase another business. Not the same product, but there are some similarities. The new business is located 1.5 hours from our current business and 1 hour from our home. Over the next few months, we would like to live in a short term rental unit while we get the new business transitioned over. This is not a long term living situation - the lease will be for 3 -4 months. Does this qualify as a business expense? I've spoken with my accountant and he said it could go either way. Just putting some feelers out there to see if anyone has been in this situation before. Feedback (and support!) is much appreciated.

What is the best review tracking platform for Google and Yelp?

Looking for an economically priced platform to keep track of reviews on Google and Yelp? I am looking in the $20 - $40/month/location range

ERTC Question

With Q3 ending and time to turn in taxes I know that we can claim ERTC for Q3 and Q4. The question I have is this: My business started earning revenue in Q1 2020 Q2 and Q3 it was shut down and then started again in Q4. Now having 0 income 2019 and 2020 is there anyway I can claim the ERTC for myself (sole employee) for this quarter. The money is really helping me (construction business).
