Returning Customer Asking for Discount
I have a side business selling custom items. Currently the majority of my business is done via word of mouth. I've done reasonably well for a small, side business. I tend to get alot of repeat customers. Recently, I had a customer come back for a 2nd item for his son. I spent a few days doing designs and he approved a final. I sent an invoice and I got a response from him asking why it was more expensive. It was the exact same price as the last time and I even pulled up his old invoice. He proceeded to tell me he referred his friend to me the week prior and I charged him less. Turns out his friend is a First Responder and I always offer a discount to Police, Fire and Military. I felt obligated to provide him a discount since he was a repeat customer who referred another customer who ended up with a discount. Not sure if I did the right thing or if I should've not provided the discount since he wasn't an MOS. Thoughts?

Calling customers that have left you.
Our business is a customer relationship business with repeat business. We talk to the same people many times a month to set up scheduling. Is it uncool, put people off, or even a good idea to call for their advice for why they left us? I can't change anything I don't know about and I really hate losing customers especially if I don't know why. If it's pricing, at least I could have a chance of saving it if we could put together a program. Thanks in advance

I currently have a fully renovated 3 story office building that is vacant. I am located just outside the city of Pittsburgh. I wanted to see if the community would be able to give me any ideas of what type/types of businesses I could start in it. I am open to any ideas. Thanks for the help!!

#TheGreatResignation is in full swing in the US as the latest JOLTS report shows a record number of Americans left their jobs in September. While some claim the reason is #vaccine mandates, the data does not back that up. Pay and working conditions appear to be the main drivers.
