The 19-year-old, who had been shielding throughout lockdown because of his sickle cell disease, had been missing for over two weeks after unexpectedly leaving his home in Ladbroke Grove, London. Police found a body whilst searching for the Oxford Brookes University student in Epping Forest on Monday evening and are currently treating his death as “unexplained”, with a post mortem finding no evidence of physical trauma or assault. His mum Evidence Joel has described her son as "a treasure" and said he had spoken of "struggling to cope" with university pressures and shielding. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. RIP Richard ❤️🕊

People aged 18-29 are to be offered an alternative due to evidence linking it to extremely rare blood clots. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency say the benefits of taking the vaccine vastly outweigh the risk of blood clots, but less so with younger people as their risk of becoming seriously ill with Covid-19 is drastically lower. Head to the link in bio for the full story.

Sara Thomas, 26, from Merthyr in Wales, bought a scratch card while on a break from work and couldn't believe it when she read she'd won the seven-figure sum. Despite her dad and her partner Sean telling her to leave work for the day, she stayed to finish her shift and wants to continue with her job as a carer. Sara - who has spent the pandemic working and home-schooling her five-year-old daughter and three-year-old son - said: "They both [my dad and Sean] said I should leave work for the day but we were short staffed and I didn’t want to let the girls down so I stayed until 7pm. "I love my job and want to continue working. The patients appreciate you being there for them when they can’t see their family and it’s just really comforting knowing that you are putting a smile on their faces. We have great banter. It’s nice to know you are helping someone and making a difference. It has been tough, but I wouldn’t change it.” 🙌
