Their streamlined bodies make them capable of explosive bursts of speed but they generally swim at a slow pace unless hunting. ⁣ ⁣ Blue sharks spend most of their time out in deeper water feeding on small fish and squid but this makes them susceptible to getting caught up in industrial fishing nets and poaching inside marine reserves.⁣ ⁣ They are among a number of other shark species being directly threatened by human activity like industrial fishing.
