Ever since the world learned of the novel coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China, harassment and violence targeting the Asian American and Pacific Islander community has rapidly increased across the US. Jacob Azevedo in Oakland, California, decided to help by offering on social media to walk with anyone in his local Chinatown neighborhood to help them feel safe. "I wasn't intending to be some kind of vigilante," Azevedo, 26, told CNN. "I just wanted to offer people some kind of comfort." Within days, nearly 300 others joined his effort. Have you experienced anti-Asian racism during the pandemic? Tap the link in our bio to share your story. If you currently fear for your safety please call local authorities or contact the FBI's hate crime Victims Services Division: 1-202-324-3000 (📸: Jacob Azevedo)

Former President Donald Trump and attorney Rudy Giuliani are being accused of conspiring with the far-right groups Proud Boys and Oath Keepers to incite the January 6 insurrection in a civil lawsuit filed Tuesday. The lawsuit, filed by Mississippi Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson in his personal capacity, cites a post-Civil War law designed to combat violence by the Ku Klux Klan. If it proceeds, it would mean Trump and others would be subject to discovery and depositions, potentially exposing details and evidence that weren't released during the Senate impeachment trial. The NAACP is backing the lawsuit and helping to represent Thompson in court. Tap the link in our bio for more on the lawsuit. (📸: Brendan Smialowski/AFP/Getty Images)
