What Disney+ shows/films have a LOT of singing?

My toddler is only interested in watching TV if it's in song-form. We're all sick and I need her to watch TV. She loses interest the moment songs stop. We just got a Disney Plus subscription and could use some suggestions! We also have Netflix and Amazon Prime so open to suggestions there too.

Parenting Haikus

Alright let’s have a bit of fun. Make up a haiku poem that only parents will truly understand. A haiku is three lines, the first has 5 syllables, second 7, third 5. Here’s mine (and relevant to today…) It’s o.k. munchkin, the duvet needed something. Feces was just right.

What are your best tips to survive long flights with busy toddlers?

We have to go on a 17 hour flight in a few months with our 3 year old. He is very active, resistant to wearing masks (we’re still working on it) and has trouble sitting still. God help us. We have survived 5-6 hour flights before with an iPad, various activity books, new toys etc. But even these only keep him entertained for so long. I need your best parent hacks when it comes to long flights. I know traveling overseas is not something we want to be doing with a toddler especially during a pandemic, but this trip is to visit our daughter we’re in the process of adopting, so it’s pretty important we make it through the flight.

Is there a scientific difference between the different brands/types of cows milk, or is it just marketing?

My daughter is 11 months so we are planning on switching to whole cow milk when she turns 1. We aren’t huge milk drinkers, so I’m curious if we really need to be buying the more expensive brands- or if store brand would do. I’m not a huge stickler for nutrition, but if it’s something she will drink a couple cups of a day- and a $1 more expensive milk will make a difference I’m ok with spending that. We also would prefer more environmentally friendly options all things being equal as well.

Am i wrong here?

My 10 year old (vaxxed) got exposed to a friend that tested positive. We decided to quarantine him at home to be safe. It's been 4 days and my wife wants to take him out to play with a group of friends. I said this is a bad idea. She said the other kids received the same notice about being in close contact, but they are all going because it's outdoors and they will wear mask. I asked her if she thinks its a good idea to be around a group of kids who were exposed and she said it should be ok since they are all vaccinated. I had to remind her we have a 1 year old at home. She still thinks im overreacting, but am I wrong for saying no and that he should be tested first?

Someone convince me to get rid of my daughter's last pair of leg braces from a year ago.

I've stared at these leg braces on the shelf for over a year. My brain just goes back to "well, what if she needs them later," "maybe I should put them in a keepsake box," "what if she wants to see them one day when she can understand." And I just physically can't bring myself to throw them away. They don't fit her anymore, they cause me so much sadness. I can't throw them away but then I don't want to see them ever again. What do I do? I know it seems like a stupid question, but I'm crying over here over it. Thanks.

3yo and Covid exposure.

My sons father just texted me and said his oldest son (16M) just tested positive for Covid. He wants to drop off LO (3M) to me and fiancé. He said he doesn’t want LO with him because he’s unvaccinated. I understand that, but come on. Does he really not know how Covid works?? Bringing him over here would expose us too. I’m so over Covid and so over people being so stupid about it. Just quarantine for 5 days, then we can go back to our regularly scheduled program. UGH!

Nine year old anger terrifies me.

My nine year old son is tall for his age, up to my shoulders in height, and he has anger issues that I just can't handle anymore. He will push and push and push a tantrum despite me using every trick I know to calm him (ha they clearly don't work) it's getting so much worse. I have had black eyes from him, broken lip, bruises everywhere and I'm so ashamed. I thought getting.hin counselling at school would help but he's a different kid there. He seems to just take all his anger at everything out on me. I'm at my wit's end. Please help.

What are some good Disney/kid movies WITHOUT singing?

My younger two are 5 and 3. It is cold and snowy where we try to do some movie nights/days during the winter. My daughter hates singing. She can deal with it if it's just a song or two if they are short or in the background but repeated musical numbers are not her style. We have watched Zootopia, Toy Story, Cars, Coco, Coraline, Inside Out, How to Train Your Dragon, The Iron Giant, Lego Batman, The Lion King, Little Mermaid, Moana, Paddington, Secret Life of Pets, Hercules, and The Jungle Book. The ones with more singing didn't go well. Any ideas?

Found one dead louse on my daughter... what to do next?

Can I first just say how the hell is it possible for her to get lice if we're in a pandemic and kids are supposed to be separated at school 😒🙄 But, I found 1 fully grown dead louse on her scalp today while brushing her hair. With 2 girls, I know what to look for when it comes to lice so I checked her head and didn't find any nits or any live bugs. But how the hell did she get this one? I plan on treating her anyway but I truly hate dealing with the lice 😭

Covid tests throw my 5-year-old daughter into a frenzied state of panic

My daughter has gone for Covid testing four times, and each time has been an absolute nightmare. She panics as soon as we announce that we need to go for testing, and she goes into a crying rage when we arrive to the test site. Twice I have managed to calm her down enough that the test gets completed, but it took up to an hour. The other two times we had to abandon the whole thing. The general policy for testing in our country is to not force children to get tested in order to not traumatize them, which I agree with - but damn, it is frustrating to see other kids her age get tested without issue while she screams her head off. We try with empathy, with calm explanations, with firmness, with rewards, with distractions. Nothing sticks. I'm not sure I can find solutions here - I just needed to vent. Please tell me I'm not the only one with a kid like this? 😂

Mother of child is smacking my 3 year old son as punishment .

She refuses to give me my fair share of involvement and time with my son so I have little influence in how he is raised . My son told me she smacks him on his hand if he’s ‘naughty’ . Obviously I am not happy with this at all and I have arranged a phone call with her in 10 minutes to discuss this. And tips on what I should say ??

my dad passed away 7 years ago today. I’m 21..34 wk pregnant & also have a 18 month old. Maybe I’m just extra emotional this year because of the hormones..but I will truly never understand why my dad chose to leave me. I have to live the rest of my life wondering.
