I was teaching my daughter a lesson on patience and I told her, “ I had to wait 9 months for you to come out of my belly so you can wait the 30 seconds while I microwave your nuggets,” and suddenly I’ve turned into my mother.

REAL LIFE PLAYROOM I really wanted to share the newest addition to our playroom and the toy getting the most play these days: our new Montessori 3 piece Furniture Set by woodandhearts. I can’t say enough about how much I love this “energy burning toy”. Well crafted and perfect for my almost 3 year olds and 6.5 year old. I was in the process of getting them to help pick up the toys so that I could get the “perfect” playroom shot for Instagram and I stopped myself. I love seeing beautiful playrooms on insta but most of the time playrooms are messy. They are a bit cluttered. They have toys that haven’t been played with in weeks still out. And *gasp* sometimes the toys need batteries 😱. This is real life in our playroom. We need more real life on Instagram especially nowadays with us all dealing with various levels of lockdowns and homeschooling! xo Mandisa

My mom basicly called me a bad mother and said i should 'just give my 3 year old to someone who cares'
She and my step dad moved in with me when they lost there apartment to covid some months ago. Im a single mom with a high energy 3 year old who may or may not have adhd. I work full time go to school full time and raise my son. I pay full rent utilities and internet on my own with little to no payback from her. She does babysit when im in class and cleans but thats about it. But all time all i hear is how im a shitty mom and how i should stop going to school and how i dont clean enough or play with him enough or im not doing everything right. Im a breaking point i dont know what to do. I feel weak i dont want to do this anymore.

I hate playing outside in the winter
I hate winter sports and being outside in winter. I live in Quebec, it’s cold and just awful. And when it’s super sunny, it’s too bright and my head starts hurting. I hate fighting with my kids so they put their winter pants and boots and coats and neck warmers and hats and mittens (and keep mittens and hats where they should stay). I hate how my husband (who usually helps), just sits in the living room waiting for the kids to be fully dressed before coming to “help” me (probably because he hates the winter gear as much as I do). It’s just so much work for approximately 30 minutes of outside time before both start complaining they want to go back inside. I know I probably have the winter blues, but I seriously don’t get how people can enjoy spending time outside in the cold trying to entertain kids - I’m not too bad during summer and for indoor stuff, but I have no clue what’s fun to do outside when it’s -20c...

Can I survive as a single mom of 4?
Just wondering if I have any hope at having even a slightly decent life. Im 27. Kids are 7, 4, 2, and unborn. My older 3's father helps minimally financially and share some custody. I'm pregnant and the father completely left and wants nothing to do with me or the baby. I'm in poverty and I dont know how we can possibly survive. I have a bachelor degree in Sociology which I guess is a useless degree. My family is extremely emotionally abusive so I'm trying to escape them which means no help there. I genuinely dont know how to survive the next 18 years. I feel like my kids can do better than me. I want to be their mom and do it all but I dont know how.

When did it get easier?
I know there will always be hard parts but at what point did it click and you realized you could do it? I have a 3m old and I need to be able to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Jealous toddler?
My daughter is 15 months and my husband and I have both noticed that in the last month she has become slightly jealous of my husband, myself or our fur baby. For example if I hug my husband on the couch she will look at us from across the room, make her way immediately over, climb on the couch and insert herself between us. Sometimes if there isn’t enough room she will push either of us so she has more room. She does the same whenever I am hugging our dog, she will climb between us and sit in between us. If she doesn’t have enough room she will always push me not our dog. Is this something to be worried about? Or a normal developmental quirk?
