Who among us has been able to follow both the sleep and breastfeeding recommendations?
I wasn't able to do either, but luckily the kid turned into a pretty solid crib sleeper regardless. If you both avoided bed sharing and were able to make it to 6 months breastfeeding, how? Just curious. Also give yourself some praise, that's impressive! If you went back to work at 3 months, again- how? How lady, how?

Today I learned something new
If your little one is crying and you can't figure out what is wrong (they have a full belly, fresh diaper, isn't tired) check their clothes because maybe they're wearing something that is uncomfortable to them. My little 3 month old dude cried for like an hour before I finally figured out what was wrong. I changed his diaper. Wasn't the issue. Offered him the boob for the 3rd time. Nope. Tried rocking him to sleep. Was NOT having it. Checked his fingers for hairs. Not it. Went to take his socks off to check his toes... immediately stopped crying. It was the socks. He did not want to wear his socks. He wanted his toe beans to be free. Now he is perfectly fine and chipper. š

I haven't been out to eat with my husband since my son was born 13 months ago
How would my husband and I do it if the restaurant doesn't have high chairs or booster seats?

My (m40s) kids are driving me crazy.
Boys 6 & 10. They just cry for electronics and donāt appreciate anything. They have everything: elaborate birthday parties, nice skateboards, nice bikes, rooms full of expensive toys, iPads, iPhones, computers, 3d printers, switches, ps5ās, etc etc. The 6 year old says no to everything I ask him to do (like wash his hands or finish his veggies). They both cry when I take them biking or tell them to play outside or take them sledding or skiing or snowboarding or to a movie or a museum (perks of living in a big city). They just want electronics. They cry enough that my wife gives it to them and then I take it away and am the bad guy. Iām so fed up. I want to throw all the screens in the trash and move my family to a one stoplight midwestern town (where I grew up in the 80s) until they can appreciate all they have.

Iām 27 and my fiancĆ© is pregnant and she is due soon! Iām excited but also extremely nervous especially in Covid times. feel very young to have a kid my parents were in their 30ās when they had me. None of my friends have kids and adults Iāve spoken to all give the same advice ājust love the kidā which is great but Iād like some more practical advice and donāt sugar coat parenting especially for infants.

How to support child through comments from other children
TW: stillbirth Some background: we had our second child recently, but he was stillborn. Our living child has been grieving, and also sheās pretty open about it. She will occasionally mention her baby who died. My daughter told me today that someone in kindergarten said sheās not a āreal big sisterā. Honestly I was first pretty angry for this insensitive comment. After thinking it through I do realize itās just one of the thousand silly things children will just say for provocation or just because they thought of it. Please share if you have any advice for how to talk to my daughter about it. The kindergarten she attends knows about the loss, but I didnāt tell them about the comment and donāt know if I should.

Where do babies sleep the first year in other countries?
US here. Do people around the world try to get their babies to nap independently in their cribs early on? Do they use bassinets and pack n plays for the first few months and then transition baby to their own room/crib for night sleep? How common is bed-sharing/co-sleeping? Do they use CIO and other sleep training methods? Genuinely curious as to what baby sleep is like outside of the US!
