Are we weird parents?
Does it hurt your child if are ‘weird’ parents? For example, last night my husband watched nature videos instead of the super bowl while I did some sewing. Today, we’ve done nothing about Valentine’s day because we both think it’s dumb. We always prefer to take our son (almost 3) on a nature walk/age-appropriate hike instead of going to the playground. Our son has a good variety of toys but not a lot of them. He has tons of books. He is not signed up for any after-daycare activities and we have no plans for any of that. Are we messing him up? I have such anxiety.

Update on boyfriend becoming a stay at home dad😂
It’s literally only been 5 hours and he’s already messaging me like crazy while I’m at work😂 “Why is he crying???” Idk babe I’m not home to know. “He wants so much attention!” Yeah because he’s a baby, they require attention it’s not like you can just put him to the side and ignore him. “What do you think he wants?” Probably for you to play with him? “I wanted to take a nap but he wouldn’t go to sleep” yeah, we run on their sleep schedule not our own at this point 😂 and he would always tell me “just take a nap” when I said I was tired. Now he understands why I couldn’t just do it. “He gets in to everything when I put him on the floor to play” yeah, that’s why you have to pay attention to him. I think it’s hilarious honestly😂 he’s a good dad but he’s not used to being with him by himself for a whole day💀

I have a 10 week old son, and I just painted my nails while he was napping…like a moron.
What do you think happened next? A. He napped happily for another hour before I went in to get him. B. He woke up as soon as I finished and shrieked for me. C. He woke up and shrieked, and also had a massive poopy diaper. If you guessed C, you’re correct! RIP to my home manicure. 😂

Did Valentines for my 8 year olds class and they were never even handed out
I am so aggravated right now. I'm sure my level of anger is disproportionate to the situation but I have had nothing but problems with my sons school this year and I feel like I could just snap. He was in a full special education class up until the beginning of this school year where he was transitioned into a regular class. It has been a nightmare. This was a chance for him to have a positive interaction with the kids in his class. The valentines were super cute and I put them in baggies and filled them with candy. It was a bit much but I was really excited. I just don't understand what happened. I don't understand why they weren't handed out. I don't understand why I emailed his teacher on Friday and let her know he would be bringing them in, and double checked there weren't any allergies, and asked her if she would make sure they were handed out properly and she said yes. I'm so tired of always feeling like I'm going to battle when it comes to his school. It's exhausting.

Birthday Party Activity Cost Sharing
Hi Everyone! My son is turning 9, and I want to host a Laser Tag party for him and his friends. What are the etiquette rules for asking parents to pay their share of the admission? If we have 10 kids, it would be \~$20 per kid. Should I just cough up the payment for everyone, or is it reasonable to ask people to pitch in? Thanks!

Almost 13-she has no friends
As the title says, my almost 13 year old has no friends. She isn’t into sports at all. She is very artistic and is in advanced classes. She is socially awkward and ends up gravitating towards kids that just don’t treat her well, and seems to attach to them very quickly. Maybe I’m just old and have forgotten what this is like? This is a new school for her. She was virtual at this school last year. I can tell it is starting to affect her. Is there anything we can do? Or just continue to lend an empathetic ear? She is not interested in clubs or any other school extracurricular activities.
