Why did your child have a meltdown today?

1. Offered her a piece of cake. She said she wanted it. When I tried to give it to her she freaked out and screamed NO CAKES. I’m also not allowed to have said cake. 2. She woke up from a nap (bummer). 3. I wouldn’t smell her feet

Males “who had been diagnosed with eating disorders all seemed to say the same thing: They didn’t know that boys and men suffered from eating disorders until they were the ones suffering.” - @Char_Markey https://t.co/OFLYhljkD0 https://t.co/hILlDzyjiS

Found a way to get my kids (6 and 8) out of bed and ready for school inn about 10 minutes

I get my kids up at 530am so they can be at school by 6. Some days it's a challenge, a few days it's a nightmare. Typical dad here. Haven't turned the thermostat on yet. Windows open during the day and sometimes forget to close a few at night. It averages 60-62 in the house. I'm fine with it but that's a different story. Last well it was pretty chili in the morning. I get up about 515. Knew it was a little chili for them so I three their clothes in the dryer for about 15 minutes. Woke then up and draped their warm clothes across them. They both sprang up and were dressed in less than 5 minutes. Tried it all week. Never had an issue. Anyone else have something similar

Let's talk about the best ways to share pictures between my wife and I and backing up photos/videos of our LO

So i'm realizing that my wife and I are constantly texting or airdropping each other photos we take on our phones (we both have iPhones), and there has to be a better way than this right? what do you all do to ensure that both of you can have access to the kids pics, without having to text/airdrop them all the time. secondly, this happened a long time ago, but during a trade in on my wifes phone, her icloud got deleted and she lost all her pics. We would be devastated if this happened of our little one. Is there a way you all backup photos and videos so if something happened to your icloud account, or phone, you don't lose them for iPhone users? appreciate you all! we just want to find ways to make things easier and ensure we preserve pictures and videos of our little guy.

What do you want your kids to know as adults?

Hello, I have a 2 and a 3 year old, and I am putting together a book of written advise, sweet passages from our favorite books, and other stuff. Do you have any quotes, advise, or a fun quip you would like your kids to know as adults? There is so much to teach them, and impart. Thank you!

We're parents over here, too! So, we completely get the appeal of screen time in some spaces and places. But if you'd like to try and curb it, here are some ideas for you. 5 easy locations to make screens off-limits: https://t.co/YwbpCGQj5X https://t.co/HjnTxZckh6

Don’t judge, fix, shame, blame or get emotionally involved. Just keep children safe, observe and state what they see, affording children the open space they need to continue struggling until they either solve the problem or decide to let go -@janetlansbury, #unschool

Cognitive Deficit

Hey I need help testing your child and see if this is normal… I am a first time parent who have been suspecting my toddler have cognitive deficit but unable to prove to any of the doctors. She has speech delay, cannot use pronouns correctly at age of 33m. There is a simple game that I’m playing with her where I place threw fruits in front her and ask her to close her eyes. I hide one fruit behind my back and ask her what’s missing. I get it that she may not understand the rules and etc so we played it for a while to make sure she understand. When she is not able to figure out which fruit is missing I then start to scaffolding and ask her “is X here?” And I noticed she can’t even answer that correctly. I wanted to trust drs that she might be just slightly speech delayed but at this point I don’t think it is related to speech at all. It feels more like cognitive deficit to me. Please tell me if you play this game with your child if ur LO is getting it.

I'm Back

I've posted on here a few months ago about the loss of my daughter Mabel at 25 weeks. I just wanted to come back to tell you guys something because you guys helped me though the darkest time in my life. I'M PREGNANT!! It's super early, but I am over the moon. I'm not telling many people until we get out first ultrasound. But so far so good.

Not all of vaccine administered - could this be a problem?

At my daughter’s 4 month check up, the nurse was in such a rush to administer her vaccines that she pushed a decent amount of the vaccine out of the syringe onto my daughter’s skin before she was even able to inject it. Not just a drop or two, but what seemed like a decent amount. I’m wondering now if this will have any bearing on the vaccines having their desired effect. Is it important that she receive every last bit in order for her immune system to have the proper response?

I Feel Empty

Quick disclaimer before I start rambling, I’m seeing a psych-therapist so I’m already on meds and seeing a talk therapist. I’m a stay-at-home mom. One child is in school. The other is 3 and starts school this year. I’m bored. ALL the time. I clean first thing in the morning, then the rest of the day is up in the air. Sometimes I have errands to run, but not every day of course. I read, journal, color, Diamond paint, play with my kid, game, watch tv (sometimes), but nothing seems to bring me much joy. I feel like almost every day is a drag….My closest friends work so I can’t just visit them like I used to. And I don’t feel comfortable hanging out with strangers due to being extremely socially awkward. 😂 I’m just looking for some encouragement. I feel guilty that I’m not enjoying what little time I have left with my preschooler….
