Trapped in bedroom and starving! What should I do?

I’ve been struggling to have my 2 yr old toddler on a schedule when I have him over my house (coparenting). Nap time is always difficult and today my son decided to fall asleep in front of the bedroom door. I think this may have been an elaborate plan of his to trap me in here as he is now the gate keeper. He’s left me with no food, no water, and no freedom. Should I disturb him and risk a grumpy attitude and endless energy today for the sake of filling my belly? Or should I endure the constant rumblings of my stomach as it continues to cry out for help? I’m STARVING! What would you do in this situation??

As a parent, I do not like mingling with other parents. Is this normal?

Im friendly with other parents, just not one for the small banter back and forth. Im not anti social, just feels like extra effort to talk to them. Anyone else like this?

Can you teach a 10m baby what no means

Hi everyone, my 10m baby is crawling and putting all sorts of dangerous things in his mouth 😩 what is the best strategy to go about this. When I say no he just smiles and keeps doing it 😂😔. What should I do? Can I teach him that something is dangerous? Is there a way to deter him other than physically taking things away? Also any book recommendations for different developmental stages for children and age appropriate strategies? Thank you alll

Website referred to me by Pediatrician talks about best skin care products for baby

For those who didn’t know there is a website called ewg.org that was referred to me by my pediatrician when I asked about the best sunscreens for my baby. It has a list of several skin care products for babies that are rated from 1-10 with all kinds of brands that you may find. I found really helpful and I think you may too.

I really dislike my partner after having a baby. Is this normal? Will it pass?

Our baby is almost 6 weeks old. We’re getting married in a few months. We’ve been together 10 years and he’s my best friend. I literally cannot stand him lately. Everything he does annoys me. He doesn’t help out with the baby. He took 8 weeks off work for parental leave and spends it playing video games and sleeping until 2pm. He snaps at me and is rude. Being in the same room as him irritates me to no end. I don’t know if it’s just stress or my hormones or what but I am so angry at him all the time. It’s to the point where I’m second guessing marrying him. I’ve never considered leaving him in our whole 10 years together but I am just so fed up with him and angry and I don’t know if it’s just me. I read that marital satisfaction goes down after you have kids. I’m not sure if this is just a phase and a moment in time that everyone goes through or if I’m legitimately realizing he’s not right for me. Has anyone else felt this way? How are things now?

Best way kids learn that mistakes aren’t fatal? Feeling our acceptance! A 12yo told me the best response: “Tell your kid you love him whatever their grade or score. That’s what my mom does Then she helps me figure out how to improve.” 👍#parenting #Thrivers https://t.co/VHTu0rF14L

baby never naps when I need it.

Why is it that on the days when I am absolutely beyond exhausted, those are the days my baby never naps? No joke. It is guaranteed every single time. Is this some kind of cruel joke?

Do you let your 5 year olds watch youtube?

My daughter used to have a kindle, and now she has an ipad. I thought an ipad would be better because it has educational apps but she just uses it to watch the kid’s youtube thing. Mostly she watches Ryan’s World but I think my husband turned off Ryan’s World somehow because he was annoyed by it and now she watches CookieSwirlC, which is like a gamer stream for kids. I am not really into the idea of her watching it all day. I’ve tried to get her into the educational games but she gets bored of them. I don’t really mess around with her youtube settings so I don’t know what you can do with it. Are there other channels you would recommend or would you delete Youtube?

Single for Mother's day of young kid

Question for my BroMos. First mother’s day single. Would it be weird if i bought a card and present for my 4 year to give to me?? I mean, I KNOW my Ex isn't doing anything. He didn't when we were together, so why would he now?? So how wierd would it be to help my kid pick a card out, and give her a few options for a present and then help her wrap it , to give it to me? Not in school or anything yet, so if anyone is doing anything, it's on me. And by giving her options, it's like she's picking it out for me. The more I think about it, the more I think I'm going to do it. What do I want?? Lol!

My baby started sleeping through the night around 13-14 months old

That's it. Just came here to say sometimes it takes longer for some babies than others to do this. At one point we did successfully move his bedtime back a little later because he kept waking up in the middle of the night and wanting to play for like an hour. By the time he is ready for bed now he is completely exhausted and is out in seconds, it's great. But he woke up at least 1-2 times per night every night until now at 14 months. Usually a light snack of 2 oz milk/formula put him back out. He's grown himself out of it now though. Good luck out there. Hug your babies.
