My MIL can relate so much to this post! She doesn't understand why my 2 year d doesn't have a sippy cup of milk and juice at all times 🙃

Thank you
Just want to say this forum has helped me so much. I have a boy just under two and I don’t have a very large family. My wife and I don’t get advice from a lot of people. Being a newer parent (with anxiety issues) Id read things from the internet and go down rabbit holes that would make me over analyze everything my son was or wasn’t doing. Everything is a “red flag” according to most of the internet , then you talk to parents and quickly find out that children develop at their own pace and “red flag” is usually perfectly normal at that age. I’m learning to just sit back and enjoy the adventure that is raising my son.

If I'd known what a hot mess I'd become as a mom, I would've been less of an asshole to my mom when I was a teen.

A Car Seat a 4 Year Old Can Buckle Herself? Booster Seat?
I'm looking for a car seat my 4 year old can buckle and unbuckle herself. She's about 43 pounds. She's pretty good in the car, but we've been having some friction over buckling the car seat and it would be better to have one she can buckle and unbuckle without me. I know most parents have the opposite problem with buckles. Thanks!

Is this normal for a 4 year old?
Hello All, My daughter is 4 and a few times a month when it's her and I doing an activity like going for a walk or playing at a playground etc she will just out of the blue say "mommy doesn't really like/love me". I'll ask her why and the answers vary from saying it's because she yells or calls her "butt head" the butt head thing isn't really malicious by any means but I told my daughter to tell her mom not to say it and I talked to her about it as well. However my wife came to me one day and said that I ruined our daughter because she says "don't call me butt head" If she has a nightmare she will walk across the house in the dark to come see me (wife and I don't share a bed) even though my wife sleeps across the hall from her. I guess I'm just asking if this is normal small child behavior or if I should be more concerned. I've had people tell me it's normal and others tell me I need to be very concerned.

What's the weirdest thing you've experienced as a parent so far?
I'll go first: yesterday I found an ant colony living in the baby monitor. I tried to clean it off but they kept crawling out of the speaker holes. It was just super weird lol.

Anxiety is a normal and healthy function, according to @LDamour. Much of the anxiety that teenagers express is a sign that they are aware of their surroundings, mindful of their growing responsibilities, and frightened of things that are, in fact, scary. https://t.co/kf6qXqFC0U

The more certain you are of your wrong answer, the better you will learn the right one after being corrected. Why is this? The answer likely involves the fact that making an error rallies your attention. https://t.co/EFfBL2qcfH
