Should we charge our daughter rent?
Our 26 y/o daughter recently moved in with us for about 4 months. She is getting ready to travel abroad for a year and she didn't want to sign another lease. She works from home so she is always here. She makes very good money and moving in with us is saving her thousands of $$. Since she moved in 2 weeks ago, she hasn't offered to pay for any groceries or utilities. She eats our food, washes her clothes here, if we go somewhere, we drive ( our gas). Before she moved in she originally had mentioned paying something and my husband said we would work something out but the subject hasn't been broached again. He's now on the fence about asking her about it. Would we be the assholes for asking for money to just cover some of the basics?

The tricky thing about teaching students to develop their thinking is that you can’t see thinking. But students can evaluate their knowledge & learning processes by assessing their use of metacognitive skills. @parrishlearning @edutopia https://t.co/Gurxu7jxxR

Contact Naps 🥰
My little baby has started sleeping through the night in her crib with only one wake up at 1 to eat which her dad does and then I start my day with her at 6:15. I’m so used to her waking up at night for cuddles so by the time morning comes I miss her so much. We have always contact napped and I have always cherished the time but today as she’s laying on me I’m really soaking in every minute of snuggles 🥰 I can’t believe how quick time is flying and can’t believe she’s going to be four months on Friday! I hope everyone is having a day full of smiles and snuggles 🥰

How do you explain what a church is to a toddler when your family is agnostic, at best?
I understand we all have faith in things and they differ and vary throughout humanity. Personally I do believe in higher powers, but don't necessarily think churches and tithing are how the universe wants us to participate in it's collectivity. So, I'd like to explain what a church is without any accompanying judgements of religion or discredit to having faith in "God". I want to be clear, I don't really condone thinking people who are religious are dumb. My audience is a 3 year old. Thanks

Toddler pulls me by the hand when he wants something. If I refuse he loses it.
My toddler is 2 years and 2 months old and whenever he wants something, which is frequently, he will grab my hand and pull me to what he wants. He can talk, I ask him what he wants all the time and if he knows the word he tells me, but he just continues yanking on my hand until I do it. Half the time I go, but if I’m busy and say wait until I’ve done x or not right now its my time to sit down he loses his shit. Throwing, whining, crying, doing an alligator roll, the works. Any tips? This behaviour really tests my patience tbh.

Tryout season. It can be very stressful, even for young kids. But there are things coaches, parents, and clubs can do to help, and ways to get the best version of the player instead of the tight, tentative, and scared child. Here's how: https://t.co/nOF5yRf4jc @CTGProjectHQ https://t.co/qkkR9rgLXA

Parenting a Scorpio
Any advice on this? I have a 7 year old, textbook scorpio. Highly emotional, needy, INTENSE, moody, brooding, a *little* scary. It might sound silly to base parenting off of a zodiac sign, but, he fits the bill 100%. And sometimes I feel like I just don't know how to handle him, at all. Anyone else? Any suggestions?

Well? This is my life now.
I was peeing today, at home. Since I'm dad, I do so standing up. I had left the bathroom door cracked, and my 4-year-old opens it, wanders in, and starts peeing in the same toilet. Okay, fine. Then he busts out "Hey Dad - SWORDFIIIIIGHT!!" while waving the stream around so it crossed back and forth over mine. I'm going to tell you all, it's VERY hard to pee into a small area while laughing. This is life with young boys, I guess?

How can I help my son build muscle?
I feel like this is a weird question but my son (7yr old) is in swimming and he really enjoys it he wants to join swim team eventually but he’s a bit of a bigger boy and he struggles to get out of the pool with out a ladder it makes him really insecure. What kind of play could I encourage to help with his upper body strength?

Does anyone have any experience with speech delay that turned out to just be a late start?
I’ve known my son has been behind in speech as he has gone to speech therapy regularly for a year and a half. However everything is normal and has been tested for autism. He understands, interacts and is actually very smart as he has picked up on sign language. He is now three and is talking quite a bit just without consonants. Says dada, mama and probably about 50 other full words. Then saw this which made me worry: “A typical 2-year-old can say about 50 words and speak in two- and three-word sentences. By age 3, their vocabulary increases to about 1,000 words, and they’re speaking in three- and four-word sentences.”
