Since the pandemic began, more than a million students have held off from going to college, opting to work instead. Skilled-trades programs are the exception. @anyasteinberg @ElissaNadworny https://t.co/LRxskDnvAo

Am I a bad parent for this?
Am I a bad parent for buying food for me and husband and making my toddler something I have at home? She is very very picky. She will only eat the same things at every restaurant and is very put off by trying new things. Me and my husband bought food from a Mexican restaurant, like authentic Mexican food. I knew my daughter would not eat anything from the restaurant and we love the food there. So I made her some chicken nuggets and french fries, stuff we already have at home. I feel a little guilty about the decision though. Was this the wrong parent move?

A sweet gift from my daughter
So I (m30) lost my daughter (14) almost a week ago. It’s been hard to say the least. Obviously today is Father’s Day. My mom called me telling me happy father’s dad. She told me about how my daughter bought me a gift for Father’s Day with her own money from babysitting and mowing lawns. And how my mom thinks she would have wanted me open it. Sure enough there was a gift between her beanbag and desk. There was a homemade card and she bought ray bands , very similar to ones I broke while we were doing challenges like in American ninja warriors (it’s a long story). But either way I haven’t been able to stop crying after opening the gift. Part of me feels like I don’t deserve it.

My 10 year old son squats on the toilet seat when going #2
I know squatting is the natural position while dropping the deuce and I have no issues with him doing it. But my wife hates the idea of him doing it (don’t know why really, maybe she thinks it’s still childish?). I bought a squatty potty for him, but he insists on squatting on the seat. Would you guys encourage him to stop squatting on the seat or just let it work itself out as he gets older? Other than the foot marks on the seat itself, I don’t care one way or another. Just curious what others think.

Is it abandonment?
My 14yo and 13year old haven't had a relationship with their dad in 13 years. I have reach out to him multiple times, stopped by his work, moms house, messaged him, seen him in the store and he bolted. I contacted one of his ex wife's and she told me that he didn't want anything to do with them. He has never paid child support.

I'm a single mom of two. and i just feel so guilty.
I'm not as loving, nurturing or as kind as they deserve. It's selfish of me to let my emotions dictate how I treat them. I'm always on edge. Always bustling around, miserable. Always either too busy or too wiped out to really play with them like they need me to. 90% of our interactions are me giving time outs..pleading with them to eat their dinner, or pick up their toys, don't be disrespectful, get in your bed, time for school...ugh I can't complain though, i brought it all on myself. I made bad choices. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.. I just wish everything turned out differently. I just want them to be happy.

Asking people if they are pregnant...
About a month ago I decided to treat myself with a whole Hawaiian pizza after a couple of weeks sticking to my new healthy living regime. I suffered PND after my third pregnancy, and I’m about 30lbs heavier than I was before. I have always been thin, and I’ve struggled with eating disorders in the past, but I’m trying to embrace my body and believe my husband when he tells me he loves it. Anyway, I go to pick up my pizza, and I run into another mum who, by the way, knows about my PND. She asked me if I am pregnant! I was so floored I just said why do you ask? I thought she would say she had a dream or I have a glow about me or she’s a witch or something, but she said she noticed my belly. So anyway I felt just awesome sitting in my car with my pizza /s. Those of you that this has happened to, how did you respond? I know it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it’s still bothering me.

Little People toys from the early 2000s aren't compatible with recent sets?
My toddler loves Little People toys, and I recently scored a huge lot of used Little People figures from 2001. They look like modern Little People figures, but to my annoyance they have *slightly* smaller holes in their bases. This means they can't fit into any of the more recent toys (ie, tractors or airplanes or school bus) because the peg that sticks up is too small. Have I missed something or did Fisher Price do this so people have to buy the newer sets? 🤦
