Most teachers end the school year with a reflective activity with their students. This act of reflection is a crucial step in the learning process to make visible all that has happened, and so much has happened. @NinaPortugal2 @edutopia https://t.co/l83tEQhOIP

I gave birth and raised something evil
I am afraid to use any bathroom in my own home because my kid quietly turns off the lights. Closes the door. And runs off with evil laugh... I am afraid to change in my walk in closet without fearing my child will pull the exact same bathroom prank... I am afraid to turn corners in my home in fear my child will jump out at me... I am afraid of all clothes hampers around the house BC I never know if my child is waiting underneath all the clothes... I am afraid to host presentations for work in fear my child will pull up a chair to fart in my face on camera again... I'm afraid of my own child...but dam she is fun for a five year old!

baby will only sleep on her stomach
Our baby was born 36 weeks, 2 days and has not been able to sleep in her bassinet hardly at all. She usually can only last 20 minutes. If we place her on her back she will immediately roll to her side. Our pediatrician said this was OK as long as she rolled herself and not us. We recently discovered she slept very well on her stomach on our chests and so we have been taking shifts staying up at night which is hard and carries risk of us falling asleep with her. I tried to put her down for a nap on her stomach today and she slept 2 hours! I watched her the whole time of course. I know this is not safe but I'm feeling so overwhelmed and sleep deprived. I can't put her down for more than 30 minutes in a day. I've also tried a swing and she won't fall asleep on that. Would it be ok to let her nap during the day on her stomach with a monitor? I also have a snuzza hero if we did try it at night.

Moms who stopped breastfeeding: Did you stop pumping/nursing due to anxiety/depression?
So I'm weening slowly by from pumping. And it seems like Isuffered bad anxiety and depression during the 8 months of pumping. I'm weaning off because I was going through a lot of personal stuff, and it just made things worse. Don't really like me and tied down to the pump, and I read that sometimes it can make anxiety and depression worse with hormones. Plus, it was hard to pump every 3 to 4 hours and have a lot of other things going on . I felt guilty but I had to do what's better for me. So I could be better for her. Does anybody relate to going through anxiety and depression while pumping or nursing? And is that a reason that you stopped as well?

Endless screaming
My husband was t-boned in his work van. Him and our field tech are OK physically. We own our own business. I have no idea what this means for our income except it's really fucking bad. He's spending the rest of the week figuring out insurance and all that jazz. We've got all the kids this week. I just fought off a symptom flare that included a terrifying blood sugar crash last week. Excuse me while I dissolve into an endless puddle of tears and rage.

My husband's job schedule changed from 5 to 1:30 to 6:30 to 5 and I love it
Just gotta say - my husband works hard and I appreciate him, but he just switched jobs where instead of coming home at 2 pm each day, he doesn't get home until about 5:30. Before, he'd take over the TV, complain about the toddlers being loud, ask me to wait on him, bitch about everything, sometimes ask me to cook dinner at 2pm, complain about me working on my projects or working online if the kids were bothering him (I have a full-time online job and do some things on the side to make money). I couldn't even wash dishes if he was watching TV because he'd complain about the noise, so I had to do everything by 2 every day. Now, I feel like there's so much time and maybe I can even relax in the living room once all my daily stuff is done. I also actually feel like I have time to miss him instead of thinking "oh shit, he's already off work".

anyone else's newborn produce man sized farts?
LO is 2 days shy of 2 weeks old & boy does he produce so crazy farts. We pretty much know every time him dirties his diaper since it's accompanied by the wettest loudest farts. It's hilarious especially his "shitface" but I'm also wondering, is this normal? Is he supposed to sound so damn gassy when he poops?? Going to first ped appointment today so we will be asking them too but curious about other experiences.

Well that was surreal
So I’m headed with my sick kid to his doc this am. Parking is a little wonky as all the spaces are super tiny and we live in the burbs, plus I gotta get kiddo out so I need space to actually open the door. There’s this pickup truck parked crooked across the lines, so I park next to him but across my line so I can open my door. There’s eleventy billion parking spaces open, and this one isn’t even near an entrance so it’s not like I’m being a jerk. I come out and this chick is leaving a note on my car. I ask if I can help her and she launched into this crazy tirade calling me a c*nt in front of my three year old because I “can’t park”. Like wowsa I’ve never had that much hate inside me to launch into a stranger for literally zero reason.

How much exposure to a language does a baby need?
My baby’s main caretaker (her grandpa) speaks almost entirely Chinese. We live in a mostly English speaking country so I do want baby to be fluent in English as well, and I speak it to her with my husband whenever I’m at home. We both work during the day so baby hears only Chinese from 8-5:30, M-F. Is this enough English exposure for baby? I’m thrilled that she will be learning Chinese too. Just want to be sure she’s getting enough English exposure since she’ll need it for school and whatnot.

Also he’s 10 weeks 4 works born early, corrected age is like 6 weeks but holy crap has this last week been bad, most fussy he has ever been, really hope it passes soon..

Baby waking upset in the night
Hi all, For the past couple of weeks, our LO (10 weeks old) has been having issues where she wakes during the night upset and the only thing that will calm her down completely is being put on a breast. This is killing my wife cause she ends up having to sleep with her on the breast. And even if our LO falls asleep she will wake up after 45 mins. Even if we give her a bottle and she drinks all of it she still won't go to sleep or stay asleep for long. We feel like we are going mad cause she goes down for her naps during the day totally fine and does three naps (1st 45mins 2nd 2hrs and 15 mins and 3rd for 1 hour) but during the night it's the complete opposite. We have given her gripe water, and tried to burp longer but no difference. When we talked to our pediatrician she just blamed the witching hour and said she would grow out of it. We have had a few successful nights but the vast majority are bad.
