If one more person tells me I’m spoiling my baby by picking her up when she cries, I’m going to lose my shit.
Maybe YOU don’t mind listening to your baby cry for you while you sit and scroll through your phone or do whatever else is so much more important than the person you decided to bring into this world, but I’m not a narcissist.- Sorry but that’s just not true, that’s a complete myth and multiple studies have shown that it’s actually really damaging to the emotional and psychological health and development of a baby to not respond to your baby’s cries. It’s impossible to spoil a baby. They are too young to understand the concept of manipulation and ignoring a babies cries can have a serious negative impact on their physical, emotional and intellectual growth. Its physically impossible to hold your baby too much. Why is this so difficult to understand? YOU. CAN. NOT. SPOIL. A. BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

Love it when (other) children behave badly
I dont tell anybody but here it goes: I really love it when children behave badly and they arent mine. Screaming, fighting, not listening to their parents or just refuse to follow the rules. I enjoy to see other parents struggle with this. To see that parenting isnt always easy and smooth. Also to learn from the parents response (on what to do or to avoid). And to feel the bliss that the screaming in the playground isnt one of mine ;)

I play guitar for my daughters every night for bedtime and it’s the best part of life.
I have three daughters under 4yo. When we started sleep training the my first daughter my wife and I of course wanted to set a routine. She reads so much already so we thought we’d do some songs to wind her down. So I look up chords for whatever Coldplay or Lumineers or Death Cab song and play a couple right before bed. Two of the girls now share a room and so it’s been the same deal for both of them now. It immediately calms them down and gets them totally ready for sleep. I’ve played guitar for years just for fun and honestly I love singing but I’m way like not a good singer. But the kids don’t care how I sing and it’s just a great experience all around. I look forward to it every night and among many great parts of my life this is maybe the highlight. I hope they never get over it!

How to not get tired of reading to your baby?
She's only 1 so she's not super interested in them other than flipping the pages herself but my main problem is I get tired of reading them over and over again. I don't have endless funds to get an endless library for her so she only has so many books. I try to get new ones used whenever I can and make sure they'll interest me too but sometimes they're hard to find. And I'm not really sure how to be more engaging either, especially with the first words books that aren't a story but just words and pictures. I really want to read to her more often though especially since she's 1 and doesn't really know any words yet. She babbles up a storm and says mamamama and dadadadada but we're not sure if she knows they mean us or not. She's definitely trying to communicate though so I want to help give her the words to be successful by reading to her more.

When I tell someone they're gonna have to stand and sway/bounce to get the baby to stop fussing
🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉 I mean I 100% appreciate someone trying to care for him while I take care of myself but come on people! The baby isn't going to suddenly be happy by sitting and staring at him telling him it's ok.

There there, it's OK
You know you're going bananas when you try to comfort your fridge. You know that impatient beep it makes when you hold the door open for too long? My mom brain took that as the sound of a creature in distress and I automatically started shushing like I do with my baby. I am forever changed.
