My 7 year old watch the horror film "The Ring" and has had trouble sleeping for 3 weeks no
So long story short, he had his routine sleepover at his cousins (cousins are a 7 year old and 2 teenagers). He said he saw parts of what his oldest cousins were watching, The Ring, and for 3 weeks and counting he's ever so anxious to sleep in his own room and climbs into ours sometime during the night. I've shown him behind the scenes of The Ring and even funny clips of Marlon Wayne's version in Scary Movie to show him it's just a movie and even comedic at times. Nothings changed. Has anyone experience a similar situation and how did you get your child out of this funk?

Should my Child attend a family wedding?
All guests are fully vaccinated and some of the wedding is outside and some of it is inside. If it were a close family member of yours, would you attend with your young (unvaccinated) child?

Parents choice wipes and a diaper rash
My 2 week old son now has a diaper rash. His diapers are changed quite regularly and rarely ever sets in a dirty diaper past a few minutes. (Both his dad and I have been around far to much child neglect and obsessively check his diapers amongst other things.) I've watched my diet, albeit with a single slip up involving beans and painful gas for both baby and I. We religiously use Balmex on his bottom, thick swipes across his diaper area. I'm just at a damn loss on what could be causing this diaper rash other than him just having highly acidic poops and or the parents choice wipes causing it, or at least feeding into it. Any advice would be wonderful, I hate seeing my little one deal with this.

Raising a teenage boy genius
Right now I’m having such a hard time understanding my teenage son. He knows that he is very smart. Unfortunately, I feel like he forgets sometimes that he is a child first. I am trying to teach him things but yet he makes me feel so small and less intelligent. When he was a toddler, I was a working mom and later on became just a housewife and I feel like he thinks that I am less educated as his dad and I keep reminding him that I was a working parent too, that I too went to college. We keep arguing about this all the time, I feel like he respects me less than his dad. Everyone tells me that he is a special child and I have to treat him differently than my other two but I don’t know how really, I do not know how to cope with his intelligence to be honest and I do not know how to shut down my feelings as a mother and see him the way other people sees him. Everyone else seems to understand him especially his teachers except for me. End rant.

Keeping your hands to yourself
How do you get a kid to keep his hands to himself??? I'm so tired of telling my 5 year old to leave his sister alone. When he gets mad at her or if she's too close to him he puts his hands on her face and smooshes her face and headbutts her while yelling at her to get away from him. I have tried everything to make him stop but he still does it!! And now she does it when she gets mad! I'm just so done with it! Neither me or my husband have ever done that to him so idk where it comes from and we don't spank out kids either. We use time outs and reward based techniques but sometimes I just want to smack him so he knows how it feels.

A bit of a rant about Bluey, Also need advice from Australian parents in 2nd paragraph.
So today I was watching Bluey with my 5yo and asked him is his daddy more like Bandit or Uncle Stripe. Without hesitation the answer was, "my daddy is just like Bandit and does everything Bandit does, and he talk like Uncle Stripe." It turns out my husband was having a rough day at work so I texted this to him, he feels like he has achieved the impossible and I can tell it meant a lot. Just had to share this happy moment with you all. Another thing is, my 5yo has been using basically every slang term in Bluey, since we are in America and I'm not too familiar with Australian slang. Is there anything in that show that isn't propper for a 5yo to say to I don't know his kindergarden teacher?! Yes this happens frequently and I don't know what to say other then. "Bluey, great show, give it a watch."

Victory!
Baby and I went out all by ourselves. I'm sure many of you do this every day. We had a colicky baby who also didn't sleep at night. While I am aware that I should have just dealt with the crying and gone out, I was terrified of going anywhere. She has (hopefully) outgrown her Colic and I'm turning into the strict nap lady so my baby has gotten so much better and happier. Today we did it! We went to TWO stores. 1 quick return and a small grocery shop. It may not sound like much but for me it's huge! The fear is subsiding and I can see a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe we can handle this! ❤️

For many students, kindergarten is their introduction to school. Yet in the country’s poorest neighborhoods, tens of thousands of 6-year-olds will begin first grade having missed out on a traditional kindergarten experience. @nytimes @DanaGoldstein https://t.co/1vZAfhWgIC
