I am the judgey mom I said I'd never be.
I have a friend who had a baby a few short weeks ago and she posted pictures of him today at the beach, commenting on how much he hates being in the ocean. There are pictures of him in the sand with his mouth wide open, mid scream and looking miserable. I am judging her for taking a 3 week old into the freezing ocean. For passing him around a group of unmasked people. For having him sitting in direct sunlight with no hat. For posting pictures of her baby crying instead of comforting him. Yeah I'm an asshole, and yeah, I'm judging. Please tell me I'm not alone.

GUYS WHAT DO U DO WITH ALL THE ART
My daughter is in kindergarten and the mom guilt around throwing away her art projects is real but they’re taking over my house. What do you do with all the millions of scribbles their teachers deem necessary to send home?

"You left him with me without much notice"
My engagement ring needed to be resized, I got a text saying it was ready, told my husband I needed to go to the store to pick it up, and asked if he was okay being with put 6m old while I went out for an hour, he said it was fine. Later on he was talking to his friend and said something to his friend about me leaving him with our son was "short notice" I was like I shouldn't have to give you notice for me to be able to run to the store. He’s your son too. Like I would never say that if he had to go somewhere and I was with our son. I just don't get it

It's crucial that adults start helping young girls to engage in productive conflict, acknowledge and grow from mistakes, develop emotional intelligence and take responsibility for the role they each play in social situations. https://t.co/oUtSJy9Q61

My husband: the photographer extraordinaire... When MIL has the baby.
My LO is on the move and I said to my husband I would love a photo of me walking along holding his hand, and asked if he'd take a photo when he saw the opportunity. Anyway, we go to the beach and he's walking holding MILs hand, my husband is on the case - multiple photos, loads of angles. He takes the most stunning photo of the two of them walking along smiling. Minutes later, I start walking along with him. Later I ask my husband if he got any photos. Nope. "But you got those lovely ones with MIL" "Yeah but she doesn't get many photo opportunities with him" And what I wanted to say... "Well neither do I BECAUSE YOU DON'T TAKE THEM" Literally yesterday I took the cutest candid photos of my husband and my baby. Jealousy is such a nasty colour but I'm genuinely quite upset that MIL got such a gorgeous version of the photo I wanted.

What item of your child’s have you “accidentally” thrown away?
My daughter got a mini zen garden a few weeks ago, and decided that it needed to live on the kitchen counter. It’s a hazard because the sand is loose and not well contained, and we have curious cats. She played with it once, then never touched it again. I’ve been watching it sit there for ages. A few days ago, while cleaning the counter, I may have …. *accidentally* knocked it off the counter and into the trash bin. Whoops!! What a shame ;)

“Does your baby sleep through the night?”
Everyone seems to ask this question, which is understandable. However, I don’t understand why people ask this about newborns! The first person who asked me this was a mother of three herself who knew my baby was only 2 weeks old. If my baby slept through the night at that age I think I’d be concerned they were seriously ill! My daughter is now 3 weeks old and she gets fed at least 3 times a night and I don’t expect that to change for a while. Does anyone else get silly questions from people who should know better? Has anyone else got this question with a newborn?

To develop a language from nothing needs a different type of mentality. This the child has. His intelligence is not of the same kind as ours. -Montessori, #parentalsage

I don’t have time or energy for endless sex
I gotta take the kids to school, go to work part time, do laundry, extracurricular activities, cooking, all other chores, AND you want me to devote like two hours every Friday and Saturday night after the kids go to sleep to roleplay style sex. Why can’t you just cum and get it over with? Saturday afternoon here and I’m exhausted by my kids already because I had to stay up til 2 am so you could cum twice. Ugh is there a pill that can make you have your period all the time?

Bedbound niece.... 😞
So my niece has a bone-nerve issue that is causing severe enough issues she's about to have surgery in Sept. She is likely not going to be going back to school until after the new year... She's a band geek who plays softball and loves the technical side of theater. She literally just fought to be placed in an engineering or welding course. Anyway, she's 15 and I want to get her something to help distract her from being mainly in a bed and wheelchair....*at home* I'm looking for suggestions. Please and thank you.

Delta spreads thru respiratory drops so please mask your kids outdoors and playgrounds
When asked if masks should be worn outdoors, "Depends on your behavior," said UCSF Infectious Disease Physician, Dr. Peter Chin-Hong. "If you're next to someone and you're shouting at them, coughing on them right next to you. Of course they're going to be exposed." To get them to wear masks, prepare them with videos, demonstrations, let them try different masks, give them reasons, reward them, and sometimes separating them from the playground is necessary to show them we’re serious If it’s hot, know that it’s just discomfort. Or you can go another time of day or a playground with shade.
