Let's make a list of things that keep baby entertained through the day.
I'll go first. Get some bubbles!! My 6 month old loves it when I blow them and it provides a good 10 to 30 minutes of entertainment.

I finally did it!
I bought the damn peloton, after eyeing it for months now. I have always been in good shape and athletic, until I had my second child. I now work FT with 2 kids and I have legit 0 time to physically go to the gym everyday, little to no exercise has left me feeling down on myself and depressed. Iām 30lbs Heavier than ever before, weight isnāt everything, but I hate not feeling healthy. I mentioned the peloton to my fiancĆ© before, we balked at the price, and then forgot about it. Well heās about to start the fire academy soon which is gonna take up a shitload of his time leaving more on my plate, and he texted me yesterday telling me to get the bike. Of course itās not solely up to him but such an expensive purchase is a joint decision so I wasnāt gonna just buy it without him agreeing. It comes tomorrow, Iām so excited yāall. I needed to tell someone and I donāt wanna be āthat personā telling everyone about my big expensive purchase š

Pretty certain Iām pregnant but I donāt want to tell anyone
More than a week late and Iāve had some symptoms, but I havenāt taken a test. Mostly because Iāve needed time to process all my emotions about it without having it be a 100% in my face reality. Iāve had an increasing awareness of this though, even before my missed period. This would be my 3rd child, and Iām having some very complex emotions about this right now. I want and love this child even though this isnāt a planned pregnancy. Iām even excited a little bit. I just feel like thereās so much crap going on with my life that things will be even harder now. Iām not sure how my husband is going to feel about it, but I donāt think heās going to be excited. And I donāt want to deal with anyone elseās emotions or congratulations right now. I think I just like the simplicity of only me knowing and I kind of dread having to make other people aware. But I also needed to get this off my chest. Not sure if anyone else has ever felt this way when they got pregnant?

When 4th graders in a variety of classroomswere asked what their teachers most wanted them to do, they didn't say, "Ask thoughtful questions" or "Make responsible decisions" or Help others." They said, "Be quiet, don't fool around, and get our work done on time. -@alfiekohn

What the heck are yāall making for dinner every night? I feel panicked every time I get home in the kitchen
Both of us work full-time and usually by the time weāre home, I have about an hour for cooking and spending time with my son. I donāt want to spend most of that time cooking, so Iām looking for easy meals that would be appealing for a 1-year old also. Inexpensive and minimal clean up time would be great also! After cooking, bath and bedtime routine, walking the dog, and cleaning dishes/other general cleanup Iām usually not sitting down until 9:30pm

Emily Oster is doing a lot of damage.
First, she says in her book *Expecting Better* that it's OK to drink alcohol during pregnancy (it's not, it's super dangerous), and then she says in *Cribsheet* that babies are "happier" if you let them cry themselves to sleep. I know I'll get downvoted for saying this, but I have to say it somewhere: I think this lady is doing a lot of harm. She isn't a doctor or mental health professional, she doesn't know what she's talking about, and she doesn't seem to have anybody's best interest in mind. She wants to make money by publishing books and being a contrarian and going against the grain of good advice. I don't think she actually cares about babies. And if she did, she would be a lot more careful about her advice. In good conscience, I don't think I would be so flippant with my recommendations, knowing that there is so much at stake. I think the odds are high that she's a sociopath.
