Did Juno❓ Did you know that Jupiter has a turbulent atmosphere? This view of the face of Jupiter from our Juno spacecraft includes several of the planet’s southern jet streams. Using data from Juno’s instruments, scientists discovered that the planet’s powerful atmospheric jet streams extend far deeper than previously imagined. Evidence from Juno also shows that the jet streams and belts penetrate about 1,800 miles (3,000 kilometers) down into the planet. The storm known as the Great Red Spot is also visible here on the horizon, nearly rotated out of view as Juno sped away from Jupiter at about 30 miles per second (48 kilometers per second), which is more than 100,000 mph (160,900 kilometers per hour). It is a centuries-old storm bigger than Earth! 🌎 Credit: NASA/NASAJPL-Caltech/SwRI/MSSS Image processing: Tanya Oleksuik © CC NC SA #NASA #Jupiter #Juno #Galaxy #GreatRedSpot #Astronomy #SolarSystem #JunoCam

At some point during the past 20 years, over five million of us downloaded SETI@home, putting our computers to work looking for aliens while we went about our lives. Then, in March 2020, SETI@home went quiet. Yet this was far from the end. 17 billion signals now need to be analyzed intelligence.

Congratulations to China for arriving at the planet Mars today, with their Tianwen-1 (“Heavenly Questions”) mission. It contains an Orbiter as well as a Lander/Rover combo that touches down in May. https://t.co/MrBfeT7Eda

Animation during the years 2128-2138, showing the 1/3 mile-wide asteroid 101955 Bennu's position (pink) relative to the Earth (blue,) as both orbit the Sun. The 2135 very close approach is shown near the end, where it has a 1-in-2,700 chance of impacting Earth. (Credit: NASA/JPL HORIZONS system)

FYI: Every 26 months a launch window opens between Earth & Mars, enabling a probe to arrive using minimal fuel, allowing heavier payloads. So anybody going to Mars will leave & arrive at about the same time. In the current window, the UAE, China, & USA all sent probes to Mars. https://t.co/cWQNPNu9HX
