NASA is no stranger to planting Easter Eggs on Mars: Perseverance's parachute encoded a binary message; InSight had a secret braille signature; Curiosity's tires left morse code tracks; and Spirit and Opportunity both carried relics from the World Trade Center.

@nextspaceflight on Twitter: Benji Reed (SpaceX): Notes that by flying Falcon 9 rockets so often, they are learning more about the launch vehicle. An anomaly during the recent Starlink mission was due to a boot having a hole in it during ascent. An engine was shutdown safely as a result.

Diana Trujillo came to the U.S. with only $300 and worked housekeeping jobs to pay for school. Now she's a flight director for NASA's Mars Perseverance.

Does NASA request that planes not fly over areas where they launch rockets?

Hello, I know that this might be a silly question but it has been sitting in the back of my head for months, ever since the Perseverance rover was launched. Even though the odds of an event like a rocket hitting a plane in flight are extremely low because of how small the objects are in comparison to how much sky there is, how does NASA and other space agencies make with absolute certainty that a rocket won't hit a plane in flight? Do they have a no fly space over the launch area? Thanks.
