Is There a Different Type of Lunar Eclipse?
With all of the recent posts about the blood moon, I learned exactly how a blood moon happens. I didn't realize that a blood moon happens during a lunar eclipse. I know this now, but I swear on my life that when I was a kid, I watched a lunar eclipse with my parents, but it wasn't red. It was solid black with a white ring around it. I've tried finding and searching for a picture like this but the closest thing like it is a solar eclipse. Now I thought perhaps I did see a solar eclipse. But I very vividly remember watching this eclipse late at night, pitch black, and without eye protection. Am I crazy? Do lunar eclipses like that not exist?
