😱 Creepy! No, we're not talking about that spider on your shoulder. (Be nice to it.) It's our new #NASAHalloween Galaxy of Horrors posters, courtesy of @NASAExoplanets. Also available en español: https://t.co/Fi2kojTZe1 https://t.co/e1Lc6MbhIh

Some people asked me for the unedited version of my pictures of the milkyway - Here you go!Since I have no idea how to pin comments: I used an iPhone 13 Pro for capturing the pictures. For the editing I used the standard camera application. I also tried Snapseed but prefered the results I mentioned.

Today in 1964, research pilot Joe Walker took the Lunar Landing Research Vehicle (LLRV) on its first flight. Later described by Neil Armstrong as contrary and risky (but useful), the LLRV played a critical role in the Moon landing program: https://t.co/3CvvHZX0k4 https://t.co/YtwAVNa1Rm

Northern Lights: How far north do I have to go to make a difference in the view?

Let's say I'm in Missouri and the Aurora Borealis is supposed to be visible tonight. Because I'm so far south, the Lights will be low in the sky, let us say 11° above the horizon. How far north would I have to drive to make a significant difference, say 45°?

For those who got a physics or astronomy degree, do you think it was worth it? I’m very interested in physics and astronomy, but not sure what jobs that could lead to? Would you say it’s necessary to take pre calc before calc 1?

🎶 Thunderbolts and lightning 🎶 Very very frightening me Paranal Observatory enjoys about 330 clear nights per year, but sometimes clouds pay us a visit, like in this spectacular image from 2013. 🔗 https://t.co/GZeV3EI5Fi Credit: @ESO /G. Hüdepohl https://t.co/0y73xqTqRh
