On Thursday at 1pm EDT (1700 UTC), get a live preview of the #DARTMission, our first test to see if we can change the course of an asteroid. DART will crash into a small asteroid 6.5 million miles from Earth and measure the effect on its motion. Tune in: https://t.co/gtbo67VJIz https://t.co/daxLGhGAVR

Today in 1957, the Soviet Union launched a part-Samoyed terrier named Laika into space. Laika was the first being to travel into orbit but she did not survive the flight. The technology to safely return payloads did not yet exist: https://t.co/AjJ7loQeXx https://t.co/notleeaM1H

Is there any way to sell launch tickets?
I should have done more research before hastily purchasing tickets, I was too excited and nervous they’d sell out. The upcoming crew-3 launch was rescheduled 3 times now. We’ve been here since last Saturday but are leaving back to NY on Thursday (tomorrow). We bought non refundable “feel the heat” tickets from KSC. Is there any way to sell these?

When was the last time an asteroid hit Earth? Small asteroids and other tiny particles bombard our planet daily, but almost all of them burn up safely in the atmosphere. Still, scientists like @NASAJPL's Marina Brozovic are keeping their eyes on the sky: https://t.co/IFAZIiKFk3 https://t.co/H4faEDtm0V

NASA once had a serious beef with a sandwich. #NationalSandwichDay During the Gemini 3 mission in 1965, one of the astronauts, John Young, smuggled a corned-beef sandwich aboard the spacecraft by hiding it in his pocket. (📸: Raymond Cunningham) https://t.co/Kg3gSHfnwp
