What to do in savasana?

I’ve heard different things like “let go” and “let your body dissolve,” but I struggle with difficult thoughts, feelings, chronic pain and dissociation which make it hard to do so. My teachers normally say “come back to your body” but I never really feel like I went anywhere?

What is everyone’s favorite class length?

I really enjoy a good 45-60 minute class. It’s plenty of time to really get into my practice and feel “satisfied” afterwards. If I am in a time crunch I can make the most out of a 30-45 minute class. Anything under 30 minutes leaves me wanting more! Maybe I’m just slow, and can’t make the most out of a shorter class. Anything over a hour and I lose my concentration and my pets become a distraction 😅. What does everyone else like?

Need routines that don't have my arms raised past my shoulders

I recently had surgery and cannot raise my left arm above my shoulder. This has stopped from doing any routines that I know of. I'm a lightweight and usually do about 5 - 15 minutes in the morning watching a video. All the videos I use have arms lifted and it seems really awkward to just not do that part. Please help, I'm REALLY missing yoga.

How to stop your hands from moving in wheel?

Hello yogi friends! It's me! The lady who loves yoga a lot! :) Anyway I was doing wheel today but every time I do it, my hands slide back on my yoga mat, so it's like I hold the position for 3 seconds but because my hands sliding back I end up falling back on my head/upper back Am I positioning my hands wrong? How do I stop this from happening? Also after wheel I get a lil bit of pain in my lower back that goes away after a few deep breaths. Is that normal? Thank you yogi friends ❤️🥹

I need help with my breath work! Help!

I have been doing yoga for many years…unfortunately I had a gallbladder surgery with many complications which left me with a ton of scar tissue in my right side abdomen. This has made proper breath work very difficult. Does anyone have any suggestions out advice? Much appreciated!

Hip opener practice has me feeling some kind of way

Hey y'all, I'm taking a personal day off work today, feeling like I'm in need of some extra self care after completing a hip opening practice yesterday (yoga with Adrienne revolution day 13). I'm just looking to talk to some others who understand! How have you responded to hip opening - heavy practices? (I've definitely cried before from the emotions that get stirred up) What do you like to do to take extra care of yourself?

ISO yoga/pilates routine/program for inflexible bigger body

I did some yoga and pilates classes as college PE and loved them. I want to do yoga and/or pilates again to increase flexibility. I would love something I could do daily for 20-60 minutes that progresses over time, like a fitness program. Free is best, preferably something I can do from home. I'm not very flexible and am big and busty, so I would prefer something that includes modified versions of the typical moves. I currently only have a mat, and I'm not sure what things might be used to help with poses. TIA

Anyone deal with and overcome wrist pain from yoga?

After 15 months of consistent yoga practice, I'm starting to have slight pain on both wrists. I have very skinny wrists so I figured it was a matter of time before all the downward dog, planks and all the other yoga moves that require wrist engagement became an issue for me. Has anyone experienced this? Could I be chronically doing things wrong or is this growing pains as my wrists get stronger? Yoga is the best exercise I've ever found and it has been a life saver for my mental health. I don't want to give it up!Any advice is appreciated!

1 week

I've been doing 20 to 30 minutes a day for 7 days and the improvement in my flexibility is amazing. I can't wait to see what I can do after a month
