Best type of yoga for flexibility
Hi, I am just starting yoga and i was wondering which type of yoga is best for flexibility? Google says Hatha, Vinyasa or Yin styles are all good options. I would like to work towards very complex poses like Taraksvasana, headstand with lotus legs pose, astavakrasana, head to foot pose, eka pada koundiyanasana, handstand scorpion, parsva bakasana, wheel pose... My focus is on flexibility, balance and mobility. I do dailiy stretches but i plan to incorporate longer yoga practices(45min-1hour) a few times a week. Thank You. Best regards. PS: Sry if you have to google poses i found them on google, dont know if they have different names ##

Alo warrior mat
I have had & used this mat for ~18 months and it had a lot of these holes in it. I just spoke with customer service who said they couldn’t do anything to help because their products don’t have a warranty. Has anyone else experienced this?

[ COMP ] Is my forward fold form correct?
Thank you in advance for your help! I've been doing yoga on and off for several years now but since last 2 months I've been doing it everyday, which I'm very proud of ☺️ However, hamstring flexibility is still an issue for me. I've been patiently practicing to improve it, focusing on my forms and I was wondering if this looks okay? Appreciate it!

What is Guru Purnima
We live in a world where we have a day for everything. We have Father's day. We have Mother's days so on and so forth. Similarly in Indian Culture we always held our liberation as the top most priority in our lives. All the other things were secondary. A guru is like a catalyst. So Guru Purnima is a day dedicated to all the Gurus who always cause our liberation. May this Guru Purnima also become a day of liberation for us. Let's make use of this day.

New yoga mat, can’t balance
I sold all my stuff and I’m on a trip around the world. But of course I didn’t want to travel without access to a yoga mat, but couldn’t bring my bulky decathlon one. Besides, it was falling apart. So I tossed it, did my research, and bought a Jade Voyager. I’ve been doing yoga for years and I’m a pretty decent balancer. But all of the sudden I can’t stop wobbling, barely keeping myself up. No, scratch that. I’m not keeping myself up at all, I keep falling out of poses. I’m inclined to blame the new yoga mat, but does that make sense? It’s not thickly padded at all—in fact it is the thinnest yoga mat I ever used, and it’s not like I couldn’t balance on the bare earth before (showing off at parties). Anyone have an idea of what’s going on? Do I just need to get used to the mat?

Does the benefits of yoga last on days you don't practice ?
I practice yoga for about 30 minutes - 45 minutes every other day. I often find that if i DON'T do yoga for a week, i start to fall back into a not so good headspace(not as calm, not as optimistic, not so content). So im curious if anyone could relate to this feeling ? I also meditate for 30 minute to 45 minutes on days when i do yoga. I try to stay consistent, cause i do see a day, and night difference on my mental health, when i don't do BOTH.

Block
Has anyone had the same thing- I used to practice yoga regularly in my early twenties. And then stopped- life and depression got in the way. Since then I have been trying to get back on to that mat but I just feel like there’s a mental block. I can’t explain it. It’s almost like I am not allowing myself to feel the joy of it and there is also this guilt that if I start, I’ll realise what I missed out on, having experienced a really shift in my mental state and life experiences in my late 20s. Can anyone relate? Need some motivation.

cried during happy baby
I went to a new studio today and did a yin class with sound healing and I cried during the happy baby pose. I feel like my life has been really sad lately, just a lot to sad things i’m processing and a lot of change and i’ve just been in survival mode. After that yin class I definitely feel like something was released and let go bcus I feel so much better. For context, my boyfriend and I used to live together but due to me not being able to find a job, I had to move back to the US from abroad and I miss him so much. I miss his hugs, living with him, just everything about him. I cried a lot during the happy baby pose and then once it passed I just felt immense gratitude.

UK alternative to root board?
Hi everyone! I’m looking for something like this https://www.therootboard.com/products/bamboo-root-board available in the UK so I can do yoga and other exercises/stretches more easily on my carpet. Preferably bamboo or a similar non toxic material. I suffer from chronic illness so do not have the ability to DIY one at this moment. Thank you for any help!
