The theme of this upcoming full Moon is slow, steady, and indulgent. This Yin practice delivers on each of those. https://t.co/jykD9Acinc

Larger than normal physiological reactions: Nausea on really deep hip flexor/quad stretches
Anyone else get sort of a reactive nausea to any stretches? I realize I’m prevent pushing it too much too quickly, maybe. But also it feels like release of years of transition from riding a desk 50+ hours a week and unresolved tension from weightlifting. Anyone else find these really deep sources of tension that have a major (larger than normal and/or systemic) physiological effect on you? It only lasts as long as the stretch does.

Having a guru, versus having mentors? Thoughts?
In Yogic and Hindu circles I always hear, "Serious seekers NEED a guru." Yet when I meet with potential gurus for initiation, I often feel like it isn't for me. I often feel a sense that there is a lot of dogmatism being forced on me, too much worship towards the guru, and also often just an intuitive feeling that it may not be right. So, now I am considering just having mentors in the Yogic space, and relying on the Yoga Sutras and traditional texts to guide my practice and teaching, rather than having a traditional guru. I am wondering what other serious Yoga teachers and students think about going down this path without one main guru? (For background: I have studied Kriya Yoga in the Yogananda tradition, Vedanta in the Ramakrishna tradition, and Zen Buddhism... I never felt comfortable solidifying one guru in these spaces) Namaste

Anyone teaching/ own a studio full-time in 2022?
Hey! I love to teach but right now I’m only doing it twice per week. It’s been tough getting a studio gig, but I reach out every once in a while. Anyway, I really like working for myself as a yoga instructor and I’m wondering if anyone has managed to do it full-time especially after the pandemic? Any tips on how to grow my business beyond just being an independent contractor for studios and fitness companies? Also how did you get to where you are? You Could have diverse stream of income, in fact that is probably better. Could also own a studio and if you do, how did you amass funds to open the space? Or is it online? Thanks!
