Beginner question

I’m tall and have begun doing yoga to help improve my posture and build core strength. I’ve also started doing sit ups to help build my core muscles. I have a job where I walk a lot (almost 5 miles a night according to my step count) and my back/legs are constantly in pain. Is there anything in particular anyone would recommend to focus on (specific stretches/poses, etc.) to help with this? I really just don’t wanna hurt anymore :(

Why is are the sides of my waist sore from slow flow?

Last night I did a 45 minute slow flow yoga class from my Peloton app. This morning, I’m noticing soreness in my hamstrings which feels normal to me as I stretched them out and held poses for quite a while. What I’m really curious about is what is it with the sides of my waist and lower back being sore the next day? When I was in the class I could feel my sides stretching and opening up, especially when I was in triangle pose, and it felt really good in the moment, almost like a stretch and an opening of some place deep in my waist that I don’t normally get to stretch. Today I am sore but not in a painful way, and I am mainly just curious WHAT it is in my sides that gets sore. Is it a specific muscle that is being pulled and stretched? It feels good, but it’s weird that I never get sore in this place from my regular workouts and it’s only when I do side stretching yoga poses.
