$15 Minimum Wage?
I’m not sure where I stand on this recent debate, and wanted to ask several audiences what their opinions were on it. Would a $15 minimum wage destroy small businesses? Help them? What should be done? Just really wanting to read people’s thoughts.

Trying to understand the benefit of calls
New to options and trying to understand them. If I do a call for 2 years from now why wouldn't I just buy the stock? If I sold either 2 years from now wouldn't I get the same return? I'm missing something..... I understand if I don't excercise the call I lose it 100%...

The Champs Elysées has an international reputation as the “"world’s most beautiful avenue." Parisians, however, are less enchanted. Despite its grand buildings and dramatic vistas, the strip that links the Place de La Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe has been widely criticized in France for being polluted, congested, pricey and — thanks to a saturation of global brands and heavy tourism — even passé. This week, the city’s mayor gave the green light to a makeover of the iconic boulevard and surrounding areas, with fewer cars, wide sidewalks, gardens and trees. See more pictures at the link in bio. Lockdowns showed many wealthy finance workers they didn’t need to be in the main office. Now they’re migrating south in search of sunshine — and low taxes. Florida is braced for a gold-plated makeover as a series of prominent financial companies, including Goldman Sachs, consider moving business to the Miami area. Some have already announced plans to open offices; others are even considering relocating outright. The Sunshine State has been trying to diversify its economy for generations, with mixed success. Could Covid-19 be the catalyst for a shift? Link in bio for more. (Via businessweek) 📷: Illustration for Bloomberg Businessweek. Photos via Shutterstock

Successful people, optimists, take note: It is possible for positivity to go bad. Call it FONO, or fear of a negative outlook: An overbearing cheerfulness no matter how bad things are, a pep that denies emotional oxygen to anything but a wide grin. It’s positivity, but toxic — and it can result in depression and burnout. You see it on Instagram (#blessed). You might recognize it in the boss who insists on starting every Zoom with a round robin of good news. You could even spot it in yourself. Is this you? Take our FONO quiz via the link in bio. 📷: Simone Noronha for businessweek

The latest escapist drama to capture our attention? “Bridgerton,” a sly and sexy Netflix series set in Georgian England in 1813, Martin Ivens writes in bloombergopinion. At a time when Europe and the U.S. feel like distant cousins, Bridgerton is a glorious example of British heritage and American irreverence fruitfully colliding to make riveting TV. Not only would the sex make Ms. Austen blush, but here the women take charge and manipulate the men. Within a month of its debut, Netflix estimates that 63 million households have watched Bridgerton, making it the platform’s fifth-most watched original series. Tap the link in our bio to find out how the show is challenging the conservative genre of bonnets-and-bows historical drama. 📸 via Liam Daniel/Netflix #bridgerton #netflix #TV #perioddrama #drama #history
