What are best practices for bank accounts?
I once heard an owner say you should have separate accounts for separate activities: one for inbound cash, one to pay outbound expenses, and a third account to hold your cash. Not really sure the advantage of that approach, but wanted to see if anyone had any best practices to suggest?

Bookkeeper is terrible. What would you do?
My dad has owned his own company since ‘83. We’ve only ever had two book keepers. One passed away and the new ones are an LLC. I used to do my dads reconciling so I know how everything needs to balance out. But ever since I’ve done it and left (went out on my own for work) the balance in the register has always been red and in the negative. Since the recession my dads business has slowed but how is that possible. These bookkeepers under a CPA ask for an accountants copy after I reconcile and never return their copy. My dad is just concerned about quarterly reports. He has the most up to date version of QB and this book keeper can log into his computer or used to. Today she just decided not to do log in and he had to run her a usb. I’m venting and trying to move myself from the situation before I blow up. I feel like they’re doing absolutely nothing but taking his money and for what?! He now reconciled on his own without me there. But has anyone experienced this?
