● The US housing market has softened a bit after years of soaring prices and frantic bidding wars, but there’s little reprieve for buyers trying to crack into the market. ● First-time buyers made up the smallest share of sales on record last year, at 26%, even as home values started to cool, according to the National Association of Realtors. And rising borrowing costs and still-high prices have pushed housing to the most unaffordable levels in records going back almost four decades. ● With the spring homebuying season approaching — a time young families often try to find houses before summer and a new school year — scant inventory means the market is still tight. That’s pushing the American Dream of a single-family house with a yard, or even just a simple starter condo, increasingly to people who already have an economic advantage. ● Tap the link in our bio for more. Holland Martini (holltini), 32, and Maria Vorovich (vorovmar), 34, like to say that their brains couldn't be more different. As rising stars in the competitive world of market research, both shared a passion for distilling complex patterns into digestible business intelligence. But it was only by combining Martini's gift for identifying patterns in large data sets with Vorovich's instinct for storytelling that both could truly soar. As colleagues at advertising giant Grey Group, they pioneered a "human-centric" approach to market research, but were dissatisfied by the slow pace of change at their company. So they struck out on their own, co-founding goodques_, a self-described "anti-research" market research company, in 2019. But how do you scale a company built on pure chemistry? Packaged tea consumption in India has been under pressure due to inflation across the consumption basket coupled with higher tea prices. This is forcing tea drinkers to downtrade, especially in rural areas. Milk prices have also gone up and this has impacted tea consumption along with delayed winters in the north, companies have said. NIQ (formerly known as NielsenIQ) data shows that the packaged tea category grew around 4 per cent in value and volume terms in 2022 compared to 2021. “Although price growth is similar (around 4 per cent) for both urban and rural for 2022, inflation hit rural consumers more as urban consumption growth is on the higher side — around 5 per cent — as compared to rural’s 3 per cent growth,” NIQ said in an email response to Business Standard’s query. #inflation #tea #milk #pricerise #economy #hike #packagedtea #india #chai

At a time when companies are trying to get employees to office, India’s second-largest information technology (IT) services firm has said that a flexible work model will be a key focus for the firm. Satish H C, executive vice-president and co-head of delivery, Infosys, says even before the pandemic, flexible work modes were available at the company. “Assuming we have 20-22 working days in a month, employees were allowed to work 10-11 days from home (even before the pandemic). We will be malleable when it comes to employee work modes,” he says. That the flexible model will continue at Infosys assumes significance as several companies are asking employees to head back to office. #Infosys #jobs #WorkFromHome #ITservices
