Small Business Ideas ?

Hi guys :) I’ve been struggling on choosing what to start for a side hustle. I want to become an entrepreneur but I’m not sure how to start. I’m currently an 18 year old Senior in High School. I need to make extra cash due to being broke and helping pay for bills. I’ve been thinking about purchasing a vending machine and making profit off of that. But I don’t have enough to purchase it. I’ve also been thinking about starting a small business like candles or something, but I don’t want to sell something everyone’s already selling. Any ideas on what I could create to sell ? I see that a lot of people sell chocolate strawberries, slime, flower bouquets, candles, jewelry, lip gloss, etc. I just want to sell something different and start up something that can grow into something bigger. I’m lost on where to start. Thank you :) Any information helps.

Hi! I am consulting for a small business that rents out tools, golfcarts, office supplies, etc to construction sites. I want to help them build a better rental process & was looking for software that will help them keep track of inventory & rentals. I came across Quipli - has anyone used it ? Any thoughts? Any other ideas?

How does one decide what their title is when you're the owner?

Proprietor, Owner, President, CEO, Executive Director, Chief, Big Boss, Czar... What did you decide on and why? As I own a media company, I chose Executive Director because I oversee the Directors of the other departments and the overall vision of the brand. Eventually, that will change as the company grows and we incorporate.

Looking for advice

Hello everyone, I'm new in here and idk if this is the right place to ask for this. FIRST, excuse my english it's not my first language so I'm not really good with technical terms. When selling items wholesale , is it typical to request invoice paid in full before making the products ? Or 50% before and 50% at completion ? For my example , the invoice total is around $1200.

U.S. small businesses - who do you ship with and do you recommend them?

Hello friends, I recently started a small business and I’m just trying to figure out my options with shipping. I had to ship out 3 small packages (0.15 pounds in weight) yesterday and each package cost me more than $11 in shipping with FedEx. This seems absolutely absurd. I am sending off handmade goods - sun catchers, jewelry, etc… there is no reason a small pendant should cost $11 to ship. The pendant alone sold for $15 and since it was my first shipping experience, I did not add extra fees for shipping because I didn’t think it was going to be that bad. I lost a huge chunk of my profit because I didn’t research in advance. There has to be a better option. Please share your wisdom with me lol

Anyone know of any decent free/cheap payroll calculators/services for 1-2 employees?

Tried Payroll4Free and they couldn't get our rates correct nor could they keep track of the annual changes in wages base so instead of applying for refunds with the government every quarter from overestimating/overwithholding I was wondering if there were any good calculator tools to help DIY it. Payroll 4 Free also doesn't take into account state wage tax base ceilings so I have to correct that too. At the end of the day I just end up doing it all by hand on paper with the rates from the government then hand writing paycheck and e-filing the returns. Are there any other good reliable tools? I was looking at Patriot at the suggestion of another post here.
