Any tips on dealing with the disappointment of a business bought out from under you by a higher offer?

My wife and I have been working for months to purchase an existing business (our first attempt at owning our own business). Saving all we could, going through all the due diligence to make sure it was legit financially. Involving lawyers and cpas and time and energy... And just found out the owner got a better offer and is going to sell to them. It's like months of our life just went down the drain and I don't know how to bounce back from this. Plus my wife has been killing herself to build the business up since we thought we were going to be the owners. Any advice is appreciated. Or hell... Dad jokes are welcome at this point just to distract us.

Quickbooks Desktop v. Quickbooks Online for Small Contracting Business

My partner and I own a very small masonry contracting company, established in late 2020. Predictably, we didn't do terribly much business in 2021, so I was able to handle our books and taxes on my own. However, since late 2021 we have begun to see a lot more business, and thus need to purchase QuickBooks in some capacity. Which version of QuickBooks would best suit a very small masonry contracting business with no employees (two owners, all labor performed by owners)? Any guidance and direction is much appreciated!

We have become so entrenched in generational name-calling — or, conversely, so focused on downplaying the differences that do exist — that we have forgotten there is strength in age diversity. https://t.co/l3OJxJoOj9

Deutsche Bank fired a number of top bankers in New York after a tab run up at a strip club was expensed as legitimate business spending, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Ben Darsney, former Americas head of equity capital markets, Ravi Raghunathan, Brandon Sun and Daniel Gaona were fired after seeking reimbursement for a restaurant visit, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing a private matter. Once the bank discovered the issue, it decided to terminate the executives, the people said. The firings were first reported by Bloomberg News on Thursday. Read more at the link in our bio.

Convenience Store - January Slump

Hey guys, just wanting to ask other Convenience Store owners if they also experience a January slump? Sales drop off like crazy every January to April, I'm worried that this may carry on, in the future, to other quarters (Q1 slump to Q1 & Q2 slump). Are January Sale's Slumps normal?
