A lot of businesses are saying that most of their employees don’t want to go back to the office, but our columnist Henry Mance wonders if that is actually true. In his latest piece he says that he has extensively researched this topic by watching workplace sitcoms, like ‘The Office’. ‘Would boss David Brent — or his alter-ego Michael Scott in the show’s US remake — exchange office dominance for the right to schedule Microsoft Teams meetings? … Likeable office romantic Tim (Jim in the US version) would meanwhile have loved lockdown at first. He could block Gareth/Dwight on Slack … But the liberation would wear off. What’s the point of hiding your own stapler in jelly?’ Click on the link in our bio to read Henry's piece analysis of the sitcoms and let us know in the comments if you’re willing to go back to the office. #ft #financialtimes #office #pandemic #WFH #work #boss

I want to start a mock interview business
In the past 2 years I've been on 65+ interviews. The reason I don't get job offers in not my competency, but my stand-offish and self-sabotaging behavior. I've come to realize that I have considerably more experience with interviews than other people do. So I was thinking about charging people for a 45-minute mock interview. Would people actually pay for this?

Does anyone here own or manage a warehouse? I have a space in Chino, CA and looking for ways to utilize it.
If there are 3PLs, Trucking companies looking for space let me know. I would love to understand how people find new warehousing spaces either for leasing or owning. Are there platforms that help you do it? We have a commercial real estate broker but so far not been helpful.

Starting a new business to rent industrial equipment and would like any input.
Hey all, Work has pissed me off for long enough. Long story short I created an LLC that's in the works and vaguely I will be offering equipment to rent. I won't go into details, but the equipment is about $10,000 per unit. I'd like to get 2 units into my fleet up front so I can at least have a backup in case unit #1 goes down or I have enough interest to rent both out at once. I have extensive knowledge of this equipment and am fully capable of doing all of my repairs in house if need be. What's my best approach to obtaining these units? Loans? I'm not in a spot where I can fund it myself as I'm still in the dreamer phase. I figure I just go to my bank, open a business account, and then have a 1 on 1 with a banker where I lay out my business plan and such for them to review. I'd be really appreciative to hear from some of the veterans around here!

● From bloomberggreen: A nuclear-powered ship full of scientists, activists and billionaires, sailing the world and examining the state of the oceans. That’s the dream of entrepreneur Aaron Olivera, who believes the novel vessel will help raise environmental awareness. ● The ship, called Earth 300, was designed by superyacht specialist Ivan Salas Jefferson. Almost 300 meters long and 60 meters high, it'll be able to accommodate 425 people. Most of those will be staff, scientists and students, traveling for free. A handful of wealthy tourists, housed in luxury suites, will pay $3 million each for a 10-day journey—helping to make the venture profitable. ● Read more by clicking the link in our bio.

Car Wash Business Experience? Sonny’s Car Wash as supplier?
Hey guys, I’m new to this subreddit and I joined because I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I have really enjoyed reading all your stories and questions! I’m posting today because I have an idea of what I’d like to do for my first foray into a small business. I am hoping to open my own car wash and eventually expand into a local chain. I have done some research and found that a lot of the newer car washes are going through Sonny’s CarWash Factory for machinery, education, marketing and service and I’m curious what anyone else may have experienced with them or with running any car wash businesses. In general, I believe a well positioned car wash could be a fairly lucrative business if setup and scaled properly. If anyone has any experiences they’d like to share or discuss with me feel free to comment or DM me!

Would it be rude of me to ask customer to call it even if I give a free service for something I broke?
Hello. So I was pressure washing and accidentally made a very small (like 10 inches long and an inch wide) tear in a large pool screen. Its gonna cost $60 to repair. I went ahead and washed the customers very dirty garage/shed (that was not part of the job). Would it be rude of me to ask if we can call it even? $60 screen repair for the shed/garage cleaning which wouldve been $60-80. Or should I just say hey we can take $60 off the bill or I can have a screen company comeout and fix it.

Got served...now what?! Please help
My mom is a 60 year old entrepreneur who owns a confectionary in a mall. As has been the case with everyone, COVID has completely killed the mall and our business. My mom had been working closely with mall management on paying a reduced rent each month based on her sales. They told her repeatedly to not worry, and that they'll work with her on a solution. Then...out of no where...we get a legal notice of a law suit. The letter said we need to pay them everything we owe (now close to $100k) in a week otherwise they will continue with the suit and may shut the store and make us not only pay what we owe...but also the entire future rent for the remaining year on the lease. We are shocked. They gave no indication that this was coming down the pipeline. 20+ years, never missed a payment...and now they're giving it to us. The business is located in Texas and is not set up as an LLC, she is a sole proprietor. What do we do?

Who Can I Hire To Build My Point Of Sale Database?
As the title suggests, is there a company or industry or whatever that I can hire to competently build me a database of my inventory to get me started? I literally have about 50k skus or so and just thinking about doing this by myself is giving me a sense of being overwhelmed.
