perks of wholesale?
what are the benefits of selling something wholesale to a shop that will just markup the price? like i see no benefit to me selling my art at a lower price to just be placed into a store that will take all of the credit. can someone tell me why this is desirable?

I have one and I'm prepping for my first ever pop up store. I was wondering if anybody has been able to get them to work with an adaptor. I don't have an Iphone and my phone doesn't have a headphone spot. I'm not sure what to do. My pop up is on the 29th.

How much do you pay for private insurance as a small business owner?
Please be specific (as in, is the insurance only covers you, or you + dependents). My husband will be coming home to work full time with me in my business next month (I am the sole owner and only employee); we have no kids and were quoted around $1,150/month by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield with a $2k deductible (which doesn't include dental or vision). Got me wondering what others are paying.

How to pay commission only mobile cleaning employees while complying with FLSA and tax guidelines.
Hello! I’m finally going legit with my small detailing business. I have two W2 employees and I need to set up payroll. I pay them a set percentage of the days earnings, no hourly, no overtime. For those who have a similar setup, how do you classify them? An outside sales employee? We have more clients than we know what to do with but not all my guys want to work every day so I’m afraid of them not meeting the minimum of $680 something a week if I categorize them as commission only employees. Any advice tax related or FLSA related would be appreciated. Thanks!

Need help printing on small envelopes
I need to print on size 0 coin envelopes. So 3.5x2.25” sized ones. They seem to be too small for regular printers. I’m paying an arm and a leg to print them in another country and ship to me. There has to be something that can print on these things. Any help would be appreciated.

This year, HBR celebrates its 100th anniversary. 🎉 To mark the occasion, we're highlighting 12 of our favorite articles from across the decades. Subscribers can access them all at any time, and we're unlocking one per month for non-subscribers. This month's article is “Disruptive Technologies: Catching the Wave,” by Joseph L. Bower and Clayton M. Christensen. Here's a note from Juan Martinez, a senior editor at HBR, about the article: "The customer is always right, right? But what if your customers are standing in the way of innovation? The article tackles a timeless paradoxical dilemma: What should companies do if their customers reject a new technology because it doesn't address their needs as effectively as a current product? The answer for Bower and Christensen is straightforward: ‘In order that it may live, a corporation must be willing to see business units die.’” Do you agree? Why or why not? Questions about Marketing/Advertising
This is for business owners/managers. I am starting a business and have a few questions about advertising it. Would like to know your thoughts? Thanks. 1. Do you advertise at all? 2. What are your methods? What platforms/services? 3. Do you see any returns? (A simple yes or no is fine) 4. What is your purpose for advertising? What were or are you trying to achieve?

Do you often feel overwhelmed, that you have too much for you to do and you can't get to it all? That's a very common feeling, says Anna Dearmon Kornick, certified time management coach and head of community at Clockwise, which makes time management software for teams. But the reason for that feeling may not be what you think it is, she says. It may not be because you have too much work to do. It could be that you have too many different important matters to focus on at once. "All of that context switching leads to overwhelm," she says in an interview with Inc.com. You might expect a time management coach to advocate narrowing your focus to one task at a time, eliminating or delaying the rest. Unfortunately, real life rarely works that way. If you're stuck with context switching as a fact of life, what can you do to reduce the overwhelm? Click the link in our bio for her advice.
