One of our friends locks their kid in room. I don't know what to do..
When a friend of ours stayed over at another friend's house he witnessed this. The couple puts their 4 year old girl in a diaper to go to bed and then locks her in the bedroom. My friend said their justification for this is cuz their daughter kept getting up at night (yaaa to use the damn bathroom!) and it disturbed everyone's sleep. Obviously this is troubling and I am not sure what to do about it. I wanted to talk to them directly about this but we don't have a good relationship when it comes to lifestyle and parenting choices as we do not see eye to eye on many things and often my concerns are brushed off. I personally see this as child abuse.

Breastfeeding and formula feeding
I don’t produce enough breast milk, so I have to supplement with formula. My baby’s pediatrician told me to supplement. My baby was very underweight, and now she’s back on track. I’ve gotten more nasty looks giving my baby a bottle, than I ever did breastfeeding. I still breastfeed, too. I don’t get why people think that formula feeding is the worst. My mother couldn’t even produce breast milk, so my brother and I were formula fed. One of my really good friends couldn’t produce breast milk either. What happened to fed is best? Why are people so upset with formula feeding?

are occasional extra long naps normal?
My 2 y/o son usually naps for about 2 hours from 12pm-2pm but today he's been asleep since about 12:30 pm and its now 4:15 pm. He takes these extra long naps every once in a while maybe once a week or less but it worries me. Should i wake him? (I'm not super concerned about his sleep schedule) or just let him sleep and wake up on his own?

I have observed for myself the exuberance, the generosity with which the nature of the child responds to scientific education. This observation left me thoughtful and filled with awe; and I became a faithful follower of the child’s spirit. -Montessori, #kids

Never knew I would love someone this much. Never knew I'd be this anxious.
Man. I love this kid so much. I spend time just staring at him. I want to give him the world. I want to give him a happy and healthy life. He is only 3 weeks and a day. I'm also soooo anxious. I'm a first time father and I want to get this right. And the thought of SIDS has me constantly watching his breathing. What do you do to calm yourself?

What were your reasons for having or not having more than one kid?
Except for wanting a big family. We are trying to figure out if we are one and done or if more kids make more sense (I (f) will be around 40 if I have another kid). - How big was the age gap between the first and the second kid? - How did your first born respond during and after pregnancy? - Was the second pregnancy hard with a young child? How did you manage it? - As they grow up, how is their relationship? Is the older kid jealous/resentful of the new kid? - Do you give the older kid less time than their needs now that you have more kids? Do you regret taking focus away from the older kid? - How much did it affect the finances (we live in a high cost of living area)? - How did your parenting/discipline strategies change with more than one kid? - If you also have siblings, did a parental property inheritance lead to differences?

Done having kids, but worried about regret
So here’s the situation, I’m pretty much positive that I’m done having kids. I am 35 and have 8yr old twins girls. I have health conditions and I don’t think my body could handle another pregnancy. Im currently on NuvaRing. My husband still has baby fever. He wants at least one more, but understands my hesitation and is supportive for the most part. Due to my age and a family history of hormone driven cancers, I really need to get off the birth control. DH won’t get “snipped” even though is an in and out procedure. I am ready to go get a tubal, but I’m scared I will regret it down the road. I’m also worried that DH will resent me. Also, condoms are not an option mostly because I don’t trust them. I have looked into basal body temp and do have a TempDrop. I guess I’m more or less ranting and just looking for advice or experiences. TIA.
