A question about owning multiple out of state small businesses
Question about owning out of state businesses Hello I have a question about what would be the good way to about owning many out of state businesses. Yes I am going to speak to a lawyer but I wanted to hear other peoples ideas first before my appointment with a lawyer next week. I am in a position where I will be managing back end operations of a few small businesses in different states. Each business I will have 51% or more stake in in and will be starting the LLC for each state myself with my partner for that specific business on as well for 49%. I am thinking I would have a single trust or LLC be the 51% stake holder I’m these businesses to keep it all together but I am not sure if that’s a bad idea for law or tax reasons. How would you go about doing this?

Business idea. Wait for the perfect one or go for it?
I've been spending some time now writing down potential business ideas but still I haven't been able to find one where I'm thinking "Yes, this is the one". I'm using all the criterias like things I'm passionate about, areas my current job covers so that I don't have to learn a completely new skill, or things I think would sell or solve a problem. For each one I always end up looking at it and not feeling passionate about it or thinking that this won't sell. For you who have found your idea that you went with, was it "the one" or did you have some doubts about it but still went for it?

ISO Disciplinary Action Policy - Open to Suggestions
I have a small catering company with anywhere from 6-12 employees. The number 1 thing that always comes up in meetings (for years) is "accountability" . We have tried several different system (i.e., points , 3 strikes) but nothing seems to stick. Any disciplinary structure you've had good success implementing?

Need advice - FOB/EXW Pricing for International Distributor
Hi there, I'm looking for someone with expertise in international shipping/distribution for some quick advice. I started a D2C skincare brand last year and started talking with an international distributor this month. In order to move forward, they're asking me for my product list and FOB/EXW pricing. My product is stored in a NJ fulfillment center and I've never shipped outside the U.S., so I'm not sure how to calculate FOB/EXW pricing. If someone can assist me with this request, I'd greatly appreciate it as I attempt to grow my small brand. Thanks!

Taking over my website from someone overseas who we paid to do it, but they stopped updates 3 years ago. I have no idea what I'm doing.
They gave me the domain authorization code for instant transfer. (The domain is in their master account on a Greek server so they cannot give login info, he said I can transfer the domain anywhere with just the authorization code). They also gave me Wordpress Access with a new username and password. So now I guess I need to buy a new web address and somehow move it there? NameCheap, Google Domains? Haha I’m really clueless here.

Free tax courses for self employed people
I'm 21 and plan to start an Esty shop so i will be self employed. I would like to learn the ins and outs of filing taxes. I want to learn income tax. state tax, quarterly taxes, self employment taxes ( I'm really confused about this one because now I've heard self employment tax needs to be paid quarterly unless i got that wrong ) and any strategies that be used to decrease taxes and keep more take home pay. So, can anyone recommend some free courses for learning about taxes as a self employed person or as an etsy seller ( I'd like the course to take into consideration any recent tax changes for 2023 thank you )?

Looking for subscription billing software recommendation
It’s for a simple business - those with active subscriptions get service that week. Ideally be able to export a csv of active subscriptions with addresses. Free or paid software are both good -it just needs to be able to scale from 20+ subscribers to 1000+ as the business grows. Also, not looking to program so simpler (relatively tech savvy but not looking to learn programming or hire for it) integration into our website or digital marketing is great. Thank you!

Transition to Full Time
I've been running a side business out of a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 years slowly growing but quickly hitting capacity. I manufacture automotive parts both by 3D printers and metal fabricated parts. I'm in the process of leasing an industrial space to finally grow my capacity to meet demand. I have been doing this all awhile working full time as an engineer. I've already talked to work about doing some unpaid days so I can slowly work to grow my business. Obviously I have to do the math to figure out what I need to make to survive, but anything else I should consider or try while transitioning? Right now from home my business makes me about 40% of my take-home salary from my day job, so the leap shouldn't be too difficult.

Building an App - Need Advice
I’m heading down the road of creating an App for my business and looking for a couple of ideas: 1. Recommendations on designers (and maybe message me with who you’ve had success with) and 2. What questions I should be asking along the way? I have no experience in this aspect of my industry so would love to hear who has had success in building an App 3. What was the biggest lesson you learned along the way?

Question on funding a new business
I am thinking of opening a small cafe and will be getting the funds to possibly do so in the near future (receiving a settlement). Currently I don’t own any property and have a small modest savings. My credit is good and I don’t have any large debt. My question is would it better to use my settlement to buy a house and apply for a small business loan or apply for a business loan and using the settlement money as a collateral / additional funding for the business? I am approaching retirement age in several years so I’m trying to think of the best way to allocate funds. I am thinking I can always get a house if the business becomes successful or would banks prefer I have real estate holdings? Thanks

Gift Tax & Side Hustles
So I’m learning about gift taxes and I hear there’s an exclusion for it when it doesn’t surpass 16k. Can someone legally just give ppl a “gift” after cleaning their car or helping then move yet it’s still their side hustle for example, detailing, and no need to report to IRS since they will never surpass 16k a year?

TV Streaming Ads
I am curious if anyone has created ads for TV Streaming services, like Hulu? Hulu has a self manage platform, minimum ad amount is $500 so seems like it might not be out of reach for a small business. I personally watch the free streams like Pluto or Tubi a lot. Once in awhile I will see an ad for a small business in my area, but never one in the same field. I cannot seem to find any kind of self service platform for Pluto or Tubi though. I was thinking I could hire someone to create the video ad and use it other places as well, like Facebook, reddit and etc. Any experience?
