Beware of Yelp

I have gotten calls from Yelp with the multiple businesses I have for $300 for free. I always stop it ahead of the time it can hit a $300 value; unless it happens to generate business which it hasn't. They recently upped the ante to a $900 promotion for my online beauty store and claimed that they have a lot of inventory in the area. Needless to say, it was a dropshipping site that I just didn't make any money on and decided to reactivate to try it once more and capitalize on Mother's Day and Graduation. Needless to say, one week into the campaign, they billed $138, and I shut the campaigns as it only generated two website visitors, and two calls (one looking for a physical store and another looking for hair accessories which I don't carry and would have been a breakeven sale for me anyway). I also run a digital marketing agency, and will stop sending people to Yelp. Running these campaigns are how I refine my strategy for actual clients

Anyone hire a sales person to go hunt for jobs?

Thinking I need to hire someone to go out and find me jobs for a small service business. I just don't know where I would even find one that would be good and work entirely on commission? Anyone ever do anything like this? How did it work out?

Becoming a credit card processing reseller/agent

Hello, I am interested in offering credit card processing as a business model. I have found lots of posts about peoples card, processing rates, which processors, different types of businesses use, but much about the actual business of card processing. I know that there are the big names like Elevon and Fiserv and that they have reseller programs, ISO programs, and lots of different offerings. I feel like I have an already made base of existing clients who trust me, and if I could offer this competitively, it would be easy to build up the business fairly quickly. I do own a couple of other service based businesses which are pretty successful locally. I am very familiar with being the business owner, and on that end of card processing, but not on the end of actually being the processor. I am open to any comments, experiences, thoughts, etc. About this or about this business model that anyone may have.

Looking for a business name for a store that promotes kindness.

The business model is basically a store that sells things that make you smile and promote kindness. We'll have small craft events, speakers, events to help the community, you name it. Every order comes with a kindness token that they can keep or pass it on. I have it all written down with how it'll work. The name I had was Kindness Karma Kollection. Loved the name until I looked at the abbreviations... would love something similar that doesn't represent a hate group. Thanks in advance!

Business Credit Card for meals

I just got a business credit card for the first time. I work as an agency nurse so I go to various hospitals. Am I allowed to use the business credit card to pay for my meals while at work?

Can I write off the cost($249) of my EIN?

Jumping through the hoops to legitimize my business. Had to get an Employer ID Number, which was $249. Can I claim it as a tax deduction next April? Thanks!

Facebook Help

Facebook Business page messenger is being weird. It says “Send Failed. A security check is required to proceed.” So I try to send people a message who I haven’t messaged in a while on my Facebook business page (previous customers) and this notification pops up saying “Send Failed, a security check is required to proceed.” But then it just gives me the option to click “ok” and doesn’t take me to do any kind of security check. Has anyone experienced this? How do I fix it? I can respond to messages if people message me now, but older messages I can’t send someone a message now.

Working full time while starting up a brick and mortar retail store

Anyone here ever attempt it? I have an idea I think that is niche, has the perfect location, a city with clientele that fits what I'm looking for. From an idea stand point, everything is full steam ahead. I can't afford to not pay myself though. I have a family with kids to support, a house we love, and all that. While I like to think the business will make very good money, I'm trying to be realistic about how things will go to start. I currently work from home with a somewhat flexible schedule. Anyone try to do both at the same time? I've seen posts before about this topic, but not about someone doing a brick and mortar retail business. Wondering how feasible this will be.

Billing and Operations Issue

I am a long established and successful sole proprietor offering consulting, VAR sales & service on hourly, retainer and project based cost+ basis. Remote bookkeeper bills clients monthly or at project milestones. I’ve consistently had issues providing the necessary info to her on time (too busy doing the work). Have tried numerous combinations of QB, Harvest, Freshbook and other systems. I know more dedicated admin support would help but looking for other suggestions for what else anyone has done or incorporated to solve or make this kind of issue easier? Appreciated!
