PayPal began laying off staffers who worked in risk management and operations this week. This is part of a larger trend of hiring freezes/job cuts across tech, including: - Twitter - Uber - Peloton - Klarna - Carvana - Robinhood - Netflix More: https://t.co/M1Alu6iavw

Ex employee wants $8k from me and threatens to sue
Prettt much he worked for me (off the books with no contract or w2) for less than a month, i paid him $3000, he lost me that plus another thousand. I fired him. He says since he “had an $8k book” at his old sales job, that he is entitled to that money because i “royally fucked him over” can i just block him? There can’t be any true legal ground with this. Any advice would be appreciated

Remote workers have flooded into small towns and cities across the US, and communities are struggling to keep up. "Zoomtowns" have become emblems of rising inequality and rural displacement. So, how do we fix this problem? @kelkord explores. 👇 https://t.co/ZWkVm4GrLa https://t.co/RgyR3ctmsk

Shipping international has created a huge issue for us
We are located in the USA and manufacture high end, high dollar, very custom products. We took an order totaling over $3000 from a customer in New Zealand approximately 8 weeks ago. We finished it and are shipping today. The box is 18x18x36 and weighs 20 pounds. We quoted $170 for shipping USPS. We attempted to buy postage and learned that USPS has suspended priority international shipments to New Zealand. They don't tell you until you press the "purchase" button. Ups is like $2200 shipping and FedEx won't even accept over $100 value. What do we do?

Self learning an industry
I finished highschool and my parents badly want me to join the family business as they're getting old and tired to work hard anymore. I like learning by myself much better than in classes. Therefore can I teach myself about the business and the industry (clothing) and run it successfully? My dad says experience trumps it all and I wont be needing a degree as long as I hire the right people. He's very successful and is a highschool dropout. But I'm afraid that I might need a formal qualification when it comes to having a reputation in this day and age. Is this really necessary? Please enlighten me on this.

Small business investing
I’ve had this idea for a while - the premise is simple. Id like to start my own mini PE firm to invest in small businesses in need of capital/expertise. I know the resources for buying outright but not for investments/partnerships. Have about 200k to work with. Thanks!

Ghosted by my graphic designer, what should I do?
I recently started a small coffee company, and I'm in the process of trying to make everything look more commercial for e-commerce purposes. The graphic designer I used on Fiverr to create my logo did a great job, but when I asked about pricing for creating a matching label design, I was ghosted. Should I just try to find another artist on Fiverr to create a label based on the same design, or is that a pretty tough ask? Not sure if this is a common issue, or if maybe this falls under a brand identity issue? Thanks in advance guys!

non-profit small business idea?
Is this even a thing? I'm sofa king tired of my 9-5, i just want to start a business that'll 1) help the community 2) make just enough to support my family and employees. I have zero desire to make a killing, expand, all that capitalistic crap. Is this a pipe dream?

Need help figuring out how to pay myself from business income.
I’m going to set up a bank account for the business and pay myself from that account to keep the business money separate from my personal account. I’m going to be the only employee and this will be my full time job. Are there any basic guidelines I should follow as far as percentage to leave in the business account or other things to consider? I want it to be easy when tax time rolls around.
