Boat tour company

I’m dying to start my own business. I failed my first business and made it wayyy to complicated with multiple business licenses and paying state taxes for a short business that lost tons of money (relative for a shirt business). I have a 21 ft boat and I do a lot of bowfishing, noodling, and just cruising. I’m right on the river and there are 2 other guides within 30 miles of me… but where I shine is my personality and ability to connect with people. I think I could do weekend “make your own boat adventure” type thing where people can choose to fish, swim, tube, whatever. What am I missing besides insurance, and 6 pack captains license? What else should I consider

Opportunity to buy a business who have a negative ebit

Hi, I have an opportunity to buy a business ( construction) with 20 employees but the company has a negative ebit: -152K€ for 1,200, 000 revenue And the asking price is 550K€. The actual owner had a stroke in 2019 and since then he disengaged and lost interest, before that the company had a 300k ebit for 3 million Revenu. The assets of the company are the employees and the tools ( it owns a lot of scaffolding). And with good management and restructuring it could go back to its previous rentability, and it makes sense and synergy with another of my activities But for me the company is not worth 550K but something around 280k ( I had access to its last 5 year balance sheet) but the owner won't understand it ( he doesn't know how to correctly read a balance sheet, he only takes care of the revenue). How can I make him understand he is asking too much?

Previous tenant was restaurant and left a bunch of commercial equipment i now own..

I rented a small town retail space fir a phone repair store. The previous tenant, which was a restaurant, was only opened 6 months and left a bunch of restaurants equipment here the landlord gave us. There’s a slightly used 12 foot grill vent system with a fire suppression and exhaust system I have no idea if I can sell it or much less who I can even hire to remove something like this. Are there any restaurant owners here that can point me in the right direct? I looked online and it’s worth about $7k just for the vent.

Is it really necessary to qualify PayPal payments for small business transactions?

I'm freelancing and doing a business card design for a friend's brand new small business. The payment is 125 and he plans to send it on PayPal as a business expense (instead of friends & family) so it'll have a fee. It's already a smallish payment so I'm wondering if it's all really a problem to just send it friends and family? I'm fairly new to this so please keep that in mind.

When to invest in an assistant

My biz partner and I own a small service company with 20+ employees. My partner does operations, sales and customer service. I do HR, scheduling and accounting. We’ve grown significantly in the past four years. We hit about a million gross a year with approx say 20% margin. In order to deal with growth and turnover in the team, we are constantly hiring. It’s to the point where I am working five days a week in my office and then I’m on call seven days a week in the evenings. Sometimes I am spending 20+ hrs just holding video interviews in a week, depending on how busy we are. I would like to invest in an assistant who can help with some office work and perhaps learn to do video interviews for me. Essentially an HR Assistant. My biz partner says there’s not enough consistent work and that I should delegate more duties to him. He works about as many hours as I do. Is approximately 3k a month for a part-time 30 hrs a week, remote assistant a good investment for us?

I’m trying to sell some display shelves

I work for a small fixtures company that sells gondolas, slatwall, checkout counters & display cases/showcases. I’ve been trying to get my boss an online presence via website and google ads and even Craiglist bots. I’m not getting the traffic I’m looking for, hell I’d be happy if I could just get one call a day just to inquire. Could someone give me some tips on how I could go on and sell we offer deliver all over the states and even Canada.

Can you use a business card on PayPal

I am a new business and setting up payments has been a nightmare. Wave and PayPal both have provided terrible customer service and can’t tell me why I cannot do some things or how I can fix it. The best I can do at the moment is send invoices through wave and accept payment through PayPal. So I just sent an invoice, adding how to pay via PayPal, and got an email back asking if there’s any way to pay with a business card. I feel ignorant but I don’t know the answer… why couldn’t he through PayPal with his business card? (My PayPal is set up as a business if that matters) and if he really can’t, what else can I do?

SEO AND ADVERTISING HELP

Hello, I own an industrial Millwright service and rigging company. We're a fairly new business, going on about two years now. Thing are going well but we need growth and new customers. I was wondering if any business owners of industrial service companies, especially those offering services similar to mine, have had any return from investing in a decent website and SEO/pay per clock adds services? If so, who do you use that is familiar with helping industrial companies with these kinds of advertising services. Thanks for any help!

Background music/noise for small office space?

Okay, full disclosure- I'm mildly autistic and I realize that my preferences here might not be my employees. So I want advice. I own an insurance agency. Four employees work in around 1000 square feet of space. We have partitions, but obviously it only does so much. The quiet in the office when nobody is on the phone feels extremely awkward to me. It seems like most small businesses have a radio or some sort of background? What do other people do? Sound bar with a preselected streaming channel, local radio, etc? I don't want to bother everyone, but I also feel like sitting and typing in silence is just weird.

Need some guidance…

Currently, I sell door-2-door pest control accounts for a living. I make approximately $140k per summer doing this. However, the stress of working 12 hour days 6 days a week is sometimes a little overwhelming, and I am trying to find the best way to transition. This is my 3rd year doing this. I have saved up approx. $80k to spend on a small business of some kind that I can learn, grow, and eventually sell to then move on to other larger businesses. I am 26 and have absolutely no clue where to go with my career. I am an ok salesman, but I do work extremely hard. If you were in my shoes, what would you do with the 80k? How would you invest it?

Copyright Infringement?

Would it be considered copyright infringement for a test prep business to name itself after the test? For example, if someone wanted to open an SAT prep business and called it “SAT Mastery”, would there be any potential for legal trouble (assuming no distribution of proprietary materials)? From my understanding the legality of doing this is based on whether a consumer would be “confused” and believe that the prep business is owned by the actual SAT people. Is that correct?

How to find the market to research at

Hi! I'm looking to help professionals and business owners communicate confidentky with their client/ bosses. I would like to initially talk with folks and understand their issues, thus i'm simply researching at this point. I'm struggling to find the right avenue to reach out to folks at though, do you have any suggestions? I've tried LinkedIN/FB groups- but they all have their rules and don't permit even research posts.
